Popular Post noreaster Posted October 5, 2019 Popular Post Posted October 5, 2019 Edmundo Dantes Belicosos...2016?.. the first few out of this box smoked young were bland and boring but WOW have they come around. I would never dare compare them to the 109, but I have to admit this example is pretty close... 23

Popular Post SigmundChurchill Posted October 5, 2019 Popular Post Posted October 5, 2019 UAO OCT 18 Siglo VI Typically, with the Siglo VI, I open my boxes from oldest to youngest. As I am coming to the end of a UAO OCT 17 box, I decided to skip a couple of boxes in between, and go straight to UAO OCT 18, to compare the same exact cigar, from the same exact factory, with the only difference being that they are 1 year apart. My conclusion: These may still be too young. They are harsher and not as flavorful as the 2017 box. I emphasize the word “may” because this cigar tastes almost like a Tubo that I smoked before decanting. This box was buried deep in the bottom of the humidor, so perhaps they just need some contact with oxygen before I make a fair comparison. I am going to leave a few out in the open in the singles drawer for a couple of weeks and try again. If it still tastes the same, I will know it is due to the age of the cigar. Followed up with a very nice 2017 PSP PSD4. And finishing up the morning with a BBF. 23

But what draws us back, those of us who are familiar with its wares? Is it not the ethereal qualities this cigar exhibits and compels us to visit and re-visit it time and time again? Yes, it happened to me. You see the last one was just average so of course I had to reach out for another tonight. Coffee, a little cocoa, plenty of 'citrus twang' and very little nut or perhaps biscuit and you'd think this Monte 2 was someone's attempt at a medium-mild Juan Lopez piramide! But alas, no, it definitely was reminiscent of the Montecristo marca, especially that wonderful 'citrus twang' that oozes class in this torpedo cigar and which makes me grateful that I'm hopelessly addicted to its snare. What other cigar empowers you to suffer its disappointment and glory in its satisfaction so emphatically as the Montecristo No.2? I tell you there is no other...okay, maybe and perhaps its little brother, the Montecristo No.4. You're going to light up a Monte No.2 now, aren't you? Funny John, I have the same experience with Monte 2s, which I consider a staple. I always think of Monte 2s like golf. It is the most frustrating sport known to man. I could play the worst, most miserable 18 holes in my life, but it is the 2 or 3 perfect shots I made that get me back to the golf course the next day. When a Monte 2 is on, its ON! 4 1 1
