THEMISCHMAN Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 Nice coffee mug.Thanks. I think it’s pretty funky. There was a post in the Coffee Mug thread and showed a cool mug made by Scargo Pottery in Cape Cod. While we were up there earlier this summer we went to Scargo and picked up a few things. 1
Popular Post RDB Posted August 4, 2019 Popular Post Posted August 4, 2019 2016 Lusi. Gosh it’s lovely. Slightly sweet, slightly vegetal, and a long smooth ride. 17
Popular Post SigmundChurchill Posted August 4, 2019 Popular Post Posted August 4, 2019 UAO ENE 18. I know I mentioned this in the past, but I smoked one of the dark wrapper Talismans the other day, and these Talismans with the light wrappers taste so different to me. The light wrapper ones are so much more enjoyable. It is not just a matter of different shades of the same wrapper either. They are clearly two different types of wrappers. The dark ones have a predominately “EL flavor”, that I seem to get in most EL’s regardless of the Marca. But the light ones are pure Cohiba. Cohiba on steroids would best describe it. The intense flavor in this cigar is blowing me away right now. And the ironic thing is, I chose to open this box now, because I thought the “18” made it the least marketable if I ever want to sell some. The rest all have 17 box codes. But if I ever do sell some, it wont be the light wrapper boxes. I enjoy them too much to let go of them. All of the light wrapper ones that I have seen are UAO, but not all UAO are light wrappers. From my collection, it seems the pattern is, that they started using the light wrappers on UAO boxes some time in Sept 17 and used them at least through January of 18. Or perhaps, I just got lucky with those particular boxes? 2 X UAO AGO 17 - Both dark. 2 X UAO SEP 17 - One dark, One light. UAO OCT 17 - Light 2 X UAO DIC 17 - Both light UAO ENE 18 - Light 2 X LRG DIC 17 - Both dark (I feel this topic deserves Some discussion. I would like to hear other opinions, so I copied and pasted this post to it’s own thread.) CoRo 24

Popular Post JohnS Posted August 4, 2019 Popular Post Posted August 4, 2019 Diplomáticos No.2 EML Ago 2014 This is the second Diplomaticos No.2 I've had from this box soon after I had my first a few days ago. Again, although it was just on 5 years rested, there was plenty of flavour and smoke to be had, and construction was absolutely faultless. In fact, I'd go 'out-on-a-limb' and admit that this cigar was the most capsicum (or bell pepper) rich Dip 2 I've ever had in my life. Coupled with the paprika spice, which was evident in spades, the sourdough barely got a look-in over 90 minutes of smoking. In comparison to recent TOS 16/17 Diplomaticos No.2 I've enjoyed I've found these two EML 14 examples a lot more savoury and more 'punchy' in flavours. I'm now curious to examine a third from the box, as I'm inclined in my preferences to go for milder examples of Habanos cigars when I get the opportunity, yet paradoxically I don't mind too much when cigars are 'punchy' in their flavours like this either. 20

Very complex, these are going to be off the chart with some more time. A little difficulty keeping it lit in the final 1/3 but I live in FL and the humidity is roughly 200%. 2+ hours smoke time, the dog was not entertained. I know that these didn't sell well but Habanophiles should mourn the loss of this cigar. Wonderful in every way. What is your Dobe's name? 2

Popular Post LLC Posted August 5, 2019 Popular Post Posted August 5, 2019 Sunday of a long weekend and had a great day. SOM SEP 15 Punch Punch from a cab. Great as always and enjoyed it with a frozen mojito. Dinner was some large bone in Ribeye’s with Alaskan King Crab Legs and a great 2006 Dead Arm Shiraz. Still a few years of good life left in these. Nice char in the steaks and rare on the inside. I had a Siglo IV picked out for tonight but after that great dinner decided to grab a LBT MAY 12 Siglo VI and it was outstanding. Popular Post Dynamo320 Posted August 5, 2019 Popular Post Posted August 5, 2019 QdO Coronas Claro ETP AGO 16. 5 days in to vacation down in the Turks& Caicos and this is the standout of the bunch. Really coming together at the 3 year point. Just want to punch myself for only getting a sixer of these last year when the boxes were up for the taking before the rebrand. On a positive note, still have 4 left. 17

Popular Post JLinz Posted August 5, 2019 Popular Post Posted August 5, 2019 Oddly this is the first cigar I've ever had with coffee. For some reason they never sounded good together even though I love them individually. I'm quite liking it! This Party E2 EOT DIC 2016 is starting to shape up quite nicely after some down time. Enjoying it with some Drambui (I know, please don't judge me too harshly. ) Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk 22

Popular Post jtfrizzy Posted August 5, 2019 Popular Post Posted August 5, 2019 '15 Bolivar Libertador (as usual I forgot to check the box when I pulled it out to get the specifics) paired with a Block House Pumpkin Ale. A little early in the year for this beer to be on the shelves but wth why not. Cigar is great. As for the combo together im still trying to taste it out. Imo a couple fingers of Lagavulin 16 yr scotch would have paired much better with this cigar in particular. And, this ale would be better served with a RASS or maybe even a PSD or PSE. Nevertheless, still a formidable pairing. Have a good week all. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk 19
