Popular Post El Presidente Posted May 15, 2023 Popular Post Posted May 15, 2023 I love observing marketing strategy across all realms. I just find it fascinating. Top marketing people get paid mega dollars to develop, pitch and roll out a strategy/campaign. We are all aware of the historic clangers. I love a bold campaign however. I love balls on the line. There are some cojones dangling on this one. I would love to hear Rolex owners thoughts Rolex unveils three new variants of its Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 36, full of joy and energy. Crafted from 18 ct yellow, white or Everose gold, these watches have adopted an original face. Rather than showing the day of the week, the arc-shaped aperture at 12 o’clock displays an inspirational keyword in English – ‘Happy’, ‘Eternity’, ‘Gratitude’, ‘Peace’, ‘Faith’, ‘Love’ and ‘Hope’. The window at 3 o’clock reveals daily one of 31 exclusive emojis in place of the date. 9 3
Astar20 Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 As an owner of a couple Rolexes I can’t bring myself to like what they are doing with this, childish and just non practical no days showing, just a time piece that begs for attention when instead of keeping it simple, rolex have no problems selling I mean rolex is going to do what they are going to do but they missed the mark on this one… 2
asudevil08 Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 Can't wait until the habanos/rolex mash up where we get to pay extra because they put a picture of a Trini under the dial.
SCgarman Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 It magically appeared around April fools day, so take it with a grain of salt. I see nothing on one of the largest watch forums that this is a legit model available to the public. It may just be a "one off" designed to spur hype.
Chucko8 Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 Just another watch that you can't buy even if you were somehow captivated by the oddity. 1
BrightonCorgi Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 Rolex has a couple of new dials and expanded range in Titanium. Everose beautiful and super popular in Asia & Middle East.
GaryK 54 Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 What could they possibly be thinking? I have a very old Datejust (my father's watch willed to me) and the Batman GMT Master II. Both classy watches in SS that I love to wear. This 'puzzle' dial is everything Rolex isn't. Sadly, if this isn't an internet prank, it will probably be in the Rolex stores in Shanghai and selling like mad. 🤣
PigFish Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 Nothing new here…. This is what happened when something useful becomes an image piece. As a timepiece I admit to liking Rolex watches, I bought my first 37 years ago. As image pieces they are stupid as the rest. 1
JY0 Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 Whether it’s real or not, here we are discussing it. Effective marking.
Arabian Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 Looks like a swatch watch branded as a Rolex. Not a fan.

El Hoze Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 I am a Rolex owner/fan and have long accepted that looking at them as tool watches is increasingly hard to defend. The day/date already as some iffy combos, I actually am not that bothered by the design of the face…I would imagine in person with the Everose it looks pretty eye-catching. The words/emojis on the day/date is incredibly wasteful and dumb. Embarrassing they couldn’t do better, maybe you could swap that out. Still not my least favorite Rolex given the context of what they’re looking to do. That goes to the 116680 line of Yacht Masters in my opinion those are atrocious (apologies to any owners in advance) and I could name a few others. 1
LizardGizmo Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 I believe this watch was put together as an autism awareness tie-in. Puzzle piece is commonly associated with autism. I still don't think it looks great, but I'm also not a watch guy. 2
garbandz Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 looks fake. how long before the fakers have one ready to go ? Already ?
BrightonCorgi Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 The Everose is their hottest looking watch material of current. Grade 5 Titanium might be the coolest, but looks like stainless to most.
Çnote Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 I haven't worn a watch in 20 years. I do not like watches. I think Rolex is more of a symbol of the out of touch elite more than any other totem of power. That all being said, I kinda want this. Marketing works.
SCgarman Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 This one is dubbed the bubbles Oyster Perpetual. Don't want to drop 40K on a Day Date, here's your alternative
Hammer Smokin' Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 this surely wouldn't be one of the first five rolex's I buy....but maybe the sixth. 😉 1
Edicion Posted May 22, 2023 Posted May 22, 2023 Pure marketing genius. They want to position the watch for the Generation Z people wearing Gucci, Supreme, custom Nikes and Balenciaga.
