This was my splurge this year. Didn’t drop as much coin as many here, but it took a lot of fortitude to pull the trigger.

My 1977 Motobecane 40T moped. Ain't she a beaut!

Not exactly a buy, but for the second time in 5 years I got ambushed with a puppy at my parents. My cousin’s frenchie had a litter and they couldn’t find a home for this girl after 5 buyers fell throu

@MrBirdmanESL X.  They replaced an older set of Acoustats that I loved dearly for several years.  The ESL's sound just as "big" as the 8' Acoustats while also producing much better mids/lows without huge power requirments.

I put together 2 work from home setups, one on the main floor and one in the basement.

Two, 4-monitor/2-computer setups. As I'm generally debugging graphics drivers bugs.

@Bijan What are your thoughts on curved monitor screens?  maybe instead of having two monitors, have one larger curved?

I think its highly use case dependent. I have a 39" curved Ultrawide 4k samsung monitor. I use it almost entirely as a flight Sim  between actual lessons and the immersion is really amazing. I'm still pushing it with an old 1070ti, at roughly 30fps it works great. It wouldn't be great setup for FPS or other games that require higher frame rates though.

My work setup is still 3 28" widescreens setup next to each other and my laptop monitor running emails. I really don't see the curved/ultrawide monitor adding much if anything to the work experience though. I'm mostly reviewing large format drawings, GIS, SiteTracker, etc. The thin bezels I have make a nice break when you have 2 of the same program open on screens next to each other.

If I won the lottery, I'd by looking into something like the curved 55" 4k monitor below and a 4090ti(when released) to drive it.

Curved ones are OK. Top right one is actually curved.

3 of the monitors are 34" ultra wide: 3440x1440, top left one is standard 4k, 3840x2160.

There are some even more ultra wide monitors: 5120x1440 or such, but you get more pixels / real estate for less money with 3440x1440 times 2.

Also with 3440x1440, you can fit 2 apps side by side very nicely on each monitor.

In any case I needed 4 monitors mainly for my last job where I was using using one computer to program and debug a second computer.

Now that I'm mainly working on a single computer and running things on a remote server farm, I can reduce the setup to 2 monitors (probably the two top monitors, one 4k 144Hz and one curved ultra wide 1440 144Hz, the bottom two are cheap 1440 ultra wides at 75Hz).

Celebrating day 2 at my new job 😂

Very nice. I'm looking to upgrade to a 4K setup as I've regained an interest in flight simming. I'm just loathed to give Nvidia any of my money right now as the price of cards is obscene. AMD aren't much better either.

Upgrading the graphics card in my computer from space heater, to space heater with optional fireplace feature :rotfl:

Although it would the packaging in the second photo could work nicely for a high end microwave 🤔

I already had an unreasonably beefy 1200W PSU, and my last card (an AMD Radeon 6950) took 3 8-pin connectors, even though it only really needed 2 when not overclocked.

So I used the provided 8-pin to 16-pin adapter, and connected the 3 8-pin connectors I was using before.

The provided adapter could take up to 4 8-pin connectors but I don't think the card actually uses that much power, as each 3-pin connector is supposed to be able to supply 150W, plus the card can potentially get another 75W from the PCIE slot.

Since the card as shipped doesn't draw more than 450W, I won't need to run the 4th cable from the PSU, unless I overclock it.

I made the switch to 2 monitors (and got rid of the second desktop too). My wife should be happier going into Valentine's day, given that this work area is in the corner of our living room 😂

On it's way.

I have an affinity for Franck Muller. Saw this one come up and loved the tobacco brown number and hand accents. Case size 47mm x 37.  New brown leather band and good to go as a casual dress watch.

That reminds me I have 4 watches I should sell

You bought it off of Chrono24?  I've bought and sold watches on there.  Great platform with low commissions.
