El Presidente Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 Over to you good people "Pres have you ever had mint in a cigar? Maybe it's because I use to smoke menthol cigs. I dig mint in almost everything form Mojitos to Jelly to salads. is there a cigar profile that is "minty" / herbacious?"
Puros Y Vino Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 The top layer of my 1988 Diplomaticos No 7 had a very minty profile. I've also had that from very old Clear Havanas from the 1920's/30's. Oddly enough, as I worked my way down to the second layer, that mintiness waned and other tasting notes took over. Cedar. Nutmeg. Cocoa. I don't get much mint out of current releases. LGC MdO's are definitely on the floral side. The odd Cohiba has given me some grassiness/mintiness. More grass than mint though. 2 1
NSXCIGAR Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 I get mint from current Vegueros. Not my thing, but might worth a try for him. 1

Popular Post Fuzz Posted December 1, 2021 Popular Post Posted December 1, 2021 Mint? No. But I did get hints of Key Lime pie from a cigar once.... 6
Enduin Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 I got a bit of mint from the Santos de Miami NC cigars I tried years ago, and to my memory they were known for a mint note. I didn’t like them but could be worth a shot… 2
westg Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 2008 Montecristo EL Sublimes ...still getting over it 😎🌴
PigFish Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 I get mint and menthol in many cigars. I don’t believe in profiles. My advice, continue to smoke until you come across it. Just a matter of time. 1

Now that’s a special box. What a great vitola and beautiful packaging. You don’t see these everyday.
99call Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 Nudies, No 1. I get a lovely buttermint note. Lots of high end vintage stuff with colorado/rosado wrappers, not so much claro or maduro
david9985 Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 I've had mint in RyJ Churchills before, though never noticed anyone else mention that here in discussions / reviews.
Puros Y Vino Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 Last night I ended up smoking a Vegueros Tapados and there was definitely some mint on the final third.
SpecialK Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 Cohiba Media Siglo... @Bijan and I have had the same experience.. 1
CaptainQuintero Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 Never consistently in any particular cigar, for me it's been more if a wandering guest every few years. The most memorial was the UK RE Bolivar Britannicas, 2012 ish? Absolutely shocking construction but strong mint throughout
riderpride Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 I've had the 'tingle' of mint but not the taste in Punch DCs. On the NC front, the Oliva V lancero has a pronounced mint flavor. Cheers
