  1. I adore these, flavour-wise and size-wise. I'm still to have one that is any less then very good and occasionally they are so magnificently full of flavour that they are 95+. Some find them too small but actually I'm getting 45 minutes at least without particularly trying to smoke slowly, and that's enough for me almost all the time. I definitely get it!
  2. La Flor de Cano Short Robusto - UK 2010 regional This was up there with the best cigars I have ever smoked.
  3. The relegation fight is the most fascinating thing for the second half of this season I think. Not much between the bottom few and Newcastle being amongst them: All the takeover stuff and heavy spending, looking good recently but 2 of their most important players out for months yet (Wilson and Trippier)...
  4. Nice review 👍 I've only had one of these and I was very impressed. Tasting notes similar to yours at initial light up, I.e. chewy, almond, cashew, peanut. It never got peppery or bitter, just stronger as time went on. Keep meaning to buy a box!
  5. The last of my 2006 Sancho Panza Molinos. What a beautiful thing they were.
  6. Merry Christmas everyone! Thanks to all that make this work how it does and to all the unseen efforts 👊
  7. I've had mint in RyJ Churchills before, though never noticed anyone else mention that here in discussions / reviews.
  8. I'm in for a box each of the Sancho and the Lonsdale... Especially the Lonsdales.
  9. With the cold comes the end of the outdoor smoking season. I'd dearly love to have an indoor smoking lounge or heated and sheltered terrace, complete with Sky Sports. Unfortunately I don't! The silver lining is my stock gets some free ageing.
  10. Great question and I'm really pleased that you've found 2! Unfortunately I don't have any cigars that are regular 100 pointers. I've had a couple of Monte 2s, Dip 2s, SP Molinos that were in that sort of area but not with the regularity and predictability you describe. Consistency wise I trust the Party Short but it's never been a 100 pointer. Health to enjoy those Bolo #1s!
  11. Draw was open but with some resistance. Paired with first a beer and then 12y/o Bowmore single malt. It opened with a slight sweetness but no other real defining flavours. Maybe there was a vegetal edge to it but there was also a bit of harshness that I wasn't expecting. There wasn't much evolution, except that the second third had the least of the harshness, so was the most enjoyable third. It had enough about it to smoke for around an hour before I gave up. Not having too much joy with this box though there have been a couple that were better than this. Burn was good and smoke output was very high. Hard to score it more than 80 though, due to the harshness and lack of flavour! The company, the beer and the whisky much more enjoyable than the Fonseca on this occasion!
  12. Nice job @CaptainQuintero! Thanks for taking the time to put all that down. Another stellar bit of writing and wisdom to sit alongside your previous works!
  13. If asking for one specific recommendation: HdM Epi 2. It's a proper cigar but a very pleasant, tasty and unintimidating smoke. Non-smokers tend to smoke very fast and a heavier RG will be better at not over-heating.
  14. There doesn't seem to have been much luck with the PLPCs in the round of reviews so far. I was hoping mine might buck the trend! This was the second I've smoked from a quarter-cab. First one was at least 6 months ago: Badly underfilled stick which is why it was first to go, but very tasty and with caramel sweetness. That gave me high hopes for this stick, which seemed like a near perfect example. Paired with orange juice and later Guinness. The burn was flawless and smoke output high throughout. I ashed in 3 neat 1" chunks. However in terms of taste it was just ok and honestly that's really all that can be said! No real defining flavours at all. Smooth, cool and steady. High quality tobacco with very occasional and brief hints of sweetness. That's it, same all the way through, 50mins or so. Tough to score as it was in no way unpleasant and was impeccably behaved. But it wasn't the reason we smoke Cuban cigars. I'll score it 80.
  15. The Partagas Short is just a fantastic smoke. When I am undecided what to smoke the Short is basically the default.
