If I have been gifted with some cigars I would not smoke ever, I take a few puffs, take a photo for my friend, send it to them, then leave it and pick up a decent cigar.

Oh man, this has happened more times than I care to admit. Always a nice gesture by my friends (who don’t smoke) but I almost always never finish them.

We wait until a co-worker we despise has a baby and give them as new baby gifts....

”Congrats on your special trophy day! Here’s a cigar that sucks as much as you blow!”

.

.

not really, though wouldn’t it be a hoot...?

Culebras is the perfect cigar for any happy occasion and fun to share. Another favorite is the Monte A as a gift.

Reband the NCs  as Cubans then give away. 😜🤓😂

I can’t give them to my friends because I don’t give my friends what I don’t like.

If you give away a few special cigars and find them barely smoked you may rethink this.

Agreed--I like to test the waters--see how they handle the first smoke (usually an ok NC) I give them.      Some folks really do not like cigars--might as well find out quickly.

I plan on doing that with some of my much better Cigars i have but don't enjoy anymore. I wouldn't want to send them the super cheap crappy ones though

If they are that bad, I like adding them to the fire pit.  Gives some scent to the firewood.

I take it with me to drinking parties, where I shamelessly distribute cigars to people I don't know who don't smoke cigars. I could give them Cohiba, but they'll still smoke a half of inch and throw it in the trash. And if they want to figure it out and learn how to smoke cigars, then the "five-cent" cigars I gave them will be enough for the first step.

I was put into my place by a rather prominent reviewer. The "catalog cigars" think NC Monte's....etc are the vast majority of what smokers, smoke. The hits per review "catalog cigar" receives 3-5x more than what a boutique or CC receives. Most cigar smokers aren't on forums like this and trading for HTF.

I have a Tupperware full of NC monte’s from when I first started smoking cigars (a few nights on those bid sites after a few beers).. think I may drop most of them at a cigars for warriors donation center. Glad I found out about it here.

I have about 10 fairly popular, well rated nc's that just don't do it for me anymore that I will be donating when I get paid in a couple days. Am debating whether or not to also send the roughly 25 $1 to $3 cheapies i had to smoke when I was poorer.
They are ok, but really nit very good so I'm hesitant to donate such low end Cigars.

What's the general opinion on donating low end Cigars? Will they likely still be appreciated, or should I just trash them?

I’m sure the warriors will enjoy anything donated. Try and get over it.  ^^^^^

Hopefully.
Thanks for your input

I spent my time in the navy on aircraft carriers so life was a lot more comfortable than it is for those with boots on the ground , so wasnt sure how they would go over

I give out to non cigar smoking friends during gatherings, the ones I know will never get into this hobby.
