FOH International Ryder Cup Blind Tasting?

One to toss around for a few weeks but it is certainly doable 

This will be an add on to the normal International Blind Tasting Comp which we will run in a compressed format in the last quarter of this year. 

Concept 

• Blind tasting
• Aged cigar. 
• Teams of 4 selected by ballot (certain minimum requirements such as availability, membership length, experience need to be met).
• Each team represents a region. I am thinking for this year Oz, Canada, US, Asia, Europe. Yes..you have to live in those regions!
• Each member of the same team receives the same cigar. same code.  Different teams may receive different cigars. 
• Tasting occurs over 5 weeks ( One team each week, say Friday or Saturday evening. 4 members of the team can get together and co-ordinate). This will be done on Zoom. I will schedule and record it. I will participate as host each week if possible. 
• Each team member makes a call and scores a point for a correct guess.  
• Video put up on FOH in the following days.
• Team with the most points wins the cup, bragging rights and mucho prizes*

*mucho prizes may be a complete embellishment. 

 Let me know your thoughts. Just seeking to get the concept right

I certainly don't have enough varied experience to participate but I love the idea.  Especially being able to see the Zoom recording of the team discussion.

Yeah definitely an interesting concept. I agree that I do not have the experience to participate, but would love to see it unfold

A couple of suggestions for consideration

Limit to top 10 marcas sold, seeing the goal is to select the marca
Only regular production with at least 3 years of production history (gives a broader base of participants)
Use a vitola that is consistent across marcas. (Eliminates guessing time due vitola ring gauge/shape)
No Edicion regional/Limitada (broader base of participants)

1. I think it needs to be determined the captain of each team from the veterans of the forum who chose on its own the rest members of the team.
2. It would be interesting to combine a team competition and a standard annual personal competition (everyone smokes the same cigars).
