MoeFOH Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 With the final weigh-in due soon it begs the question... is this the toughest Fat Bastid Comp year ever? ? With the lockdown meaning Netflix, booze, tasty snacks, the couch, Uber Eats, etc., are all even more handy to the FB's activity rotation, it would seem this year's comp is a steeper mountain to climb than usual... OR... has it in some Bizzaro World scenario made it an easier task -- the attention being able to be focussed on diets and fitness with greater intensity?? ??versus ??♂️?♂️? I know my weight is heading north at a rate of knots... Fat Bastids, what has been your experience? P.S. Final weigh-ins due this coming weekend!
Popular Post JohnS Posted April 14, 2020 Popular Post Posted April 14, 2020 I'm doing fine. I was 105 kgs (231 lbs) and 11 weeks later I'm 93 kgs (205 lbs). I'm planning to have ice-cream as a treat tonight for the first time in 3 months. 5 lbs (2.3 kgs) to go! 6

LordAnubis Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 I vote for a delay of the comp to June. It has nothing to do with Ramadan coming up soon. Nothing at all. I tried swimming in my shower. I don’t think it worked. Today while crossing the road I had to run a bit to get to the other side as a car was fast approaching. I could hear my legs swearing at me for this new found action they were performing.

nKostyan Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 I am not fat, my weight is 92.5 kg (204 lbs) with a height of 187 cm, this is slightly above the norm. I maintain stability, including by walking routes that I get on the trip to work. On average, I walk 9-10 km (5,6-6,2 miles) per day. This is the main way to burn calories for me. The regime of home self-isolation scare me and I began to regularly engage in home trainings. Swimming pool, horizontal bar, walking on stairs, “Nike training” exercises (app) with dumbbells. In principle, everything except the pool is quite accessible to most people, even in a cramped apartment. I not only keep fit, but also lost 3 kg in two weeks, despite the fact that my wife began to cook daily pastries. So do not despair because of the lack of opportunities to work out in fitness halls, there are many free training programs for home. I believe on the contrary it is necessary to take advantage of the epidemic to bring yourself back to normal. There is still time to make a breakthrough! 1
madandana Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 The stay at home is working well for me as we are not attending parties and happy hours where I would be drinking and eating to much. My problem is I spent the winter (until April 1) vacationing and that’s not conducive to weight loss.
lovethehaze Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 I feel as if it has made it harder this past month, the eating and lack of drinking i can do but no gym makes it harder for me... I do walk with the baby and wife and dog but this is about my max on exercise. Normally at this point I would have played some golf at least but this too is shut down where I live. I am still doing good for my overall health, down about 30 lbs or so but to really tighten up and feel great i need the gym, but this is juts me.
Hammer Smokin' Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 this is definitely tougher than I thought. I'm down 20lbs from my previous weight. But my personal goal was to be down 25lbs - 30lbs. First thought is I'm happy to be down at all. But certainly tougher than I anticipated. My original plan was 90% diet, 10% exercise (cause that's how you lose weight fast). But the diet part has been much tougher than I thought. So I ramped up the exercising. Just simple situps, pushups, and stretching. My waist and body has firmed up, but I think I have built some muscle, which is heavier than the fat it replaced. That my reason for not losing as much as my goal (yet), and I'm sticking to it In reality, I want to be at 220lbs by my 40th birthday (June 28th). Only 14 more lbs to go. This has been a great reason to keep at it! Thanks Prez for putting it all together. 1
Chibearsv Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 I'm glad i didn't get in on the competition because it would have been futile. My wife bakes when she's bored and she bakes well. So cakes and breads and cookies have been freshly made at my house very frequently for the last couple of months. Frankly, it's amazing I'm down 4 pounds since this competition started but 4 lbs for me is like taking a cupful of water out of Lake Michigan. Congrats to you guys that have actually lost significantly, that's good work!
Habana Mike Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 Wasn't in it this year. Finished around 210 from 240+ last year. 198 on the scales today. First time I've broken 200 since my last round of golf! Congrats to all who participated. Always good to drop a few kilos. 1

sho671 Posted April 15, 2020 Posted April 15, 2020 I've actually lost more weight than I was trying to. I initially was looking to lean out while maintaining muscle mass, but since my gym closed I couldn't maintain my powerlifting regimen. I also cut down to two meals a day as my energy expenditure is very low compared to when I was leaving my house. When things get back to normal and going to the gym becomes something I can do again, I'm going to have to start over from scratch, retest my 1 RMs and recalculate my working sets.
Sir Diggamus Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 I have found it easier to keep the weight loss going during our current situation. I have been following the 18/6 diet and only eating from 12pm to 6pm, with my late night rum drinking for the FOH Zoom call being the only exception. It is a diet I think I can stock with long term. I will definitely be tested once we get back to semi-normal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
lestabantam Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 Our typical lockdown day starts well with exercise, home schooling, gardening, and healthy pursuits. Unfortunately beer o'clock usually happens around 5PM, accompanied with a nice dinner and some wine. I wont be winning FB FOH this year!

I am not in the competition but I too lost weight for the same reasons. 1 meal a day, no lifting, leaves no room for the gainz
The Squiggler Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 I didn't weigh in because at 6'1/165lbs, losing weight seemed like it might be unhealthy, but I've lost 10lbs since the 'lockdown' regardless. I hope everybody here is nourishing themselves and paying mind to their overall health. Personally, I'd be happy increasing my muscle/body-fat ratio, even it it meant gaining a few. 1
