Siberian Bear Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 I had to cancel my birthday party last night due to this situation, more than 30 ppl invited, instead only my and wife’s parents could come. Nevertheless, we had a nice feast since all the food was bought in advance. We’ll freeze the rest and live off of it for a month now today is ‘15 La Punta with nice Belgian style beer ? 4
Popular Post joeypots Posted March 15, 2020 Popular Post Posted March 15, 2020 A simple Sunday at home. I thought I grab something decadent to smoke to go along with one of our usual Sunday dinners. The cigar, a Siglo VI, was a gift from Van V. and I held off smoking it partly to see how it would hold up in its tube and partly to have an occasion for something special. Van was a friend to me so smoking this cigar, after 13 years in my humidor, is a bit of a tribute to a great cigar man. The Siglo has all of the qualities we look for in a great cigar. Smooth, tightly packed with just a hint of resistance on the draw, and a thin wrapper with a bit of sheen even after all of this time. It smoked potent and smooth with a hint of tang and citrus hidden in the tobacco taste. It burned straight and I didn’t touch it up even once, construction was impeccable. I enjoyed every second of this one and it re enforced my opinion that quality Cohibas are better than every EL and RE when they are properly aged and kept. After the cigar it was the old stand by Sunday chicken dinner. Roasted on the stand upright the chicken has 360 degrees of crisped skin. Potatoes and carrots filled out the menu. Nothing fancy but it hit the spot. Not bad for a day of relative isolation. 6
Maskas Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 After a busy week and very busy Saturday into Sunday morning it’s finally time. Definitely late to the party for grocery shopping...both grocery stores around my house are pretty much cleaned out so no fancy home cooked meal like usual on Sunday night. Didn’t stock up early so when we went for our normal weekend grocery trip we were out of luck, barely got anything. This virus deal has really got things screwed up. Anyway, went to our favorite Chinese joint and brought home the good stuff for a nice dinner on fine china at the couch haha. Delicious food, some time with the family, and just a few minutes to take a load off after being on my feet all weekend. Now that the food has settled its cigar time! Going back to back tonight as it’s much needed. First one up a nice dark wrapper 2018 QD50 for the review comp then I’ll crack this new bottle of Glenlivet Founders Reserve and sit back and enjoy a Non Plus from 18 as well. Have a great evening everyone and to our host, thank you for the opportunity for this giveaway! 3
Popular Post Lomey Posted March 16, 2020 Popular Post Posted March 16, 2020 A homebrewed Belgian black Ale, a Reynaldo custom rolled and smoked and then braised chuck roast. Thoughts and prayers to everyone. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk 5
Popular Post unclepauly25 Posted March 16, 2020 Popular Post Posted March 16, 2020 Just having a few drinks with my wife and a H uppmann #2, made some shrimp for dinner, I’m glad we did groceries on Friday because I don’t want to leave the house. Stay safe and healthy everyone and I wish everyone the best! 7

I look forward to this solo treat every week, the only variation is the cigar. Sent from GJ 1151 Ah, "Eggs on Horseback". I remember as a young teen reading Robert A Heinlein's book, "Friday", and seeing this particular meal. Never knew it was called that, but I had often eaten my steaks like that when I was a kid. 2

Popular Post THEMISCHMAN Posted March 16, 2020 Popular Post Posted March 16, 2020 Made my first batch of naan. Not like what I had when I was in the Middle East but still turned out pretty good. Kind of took me back to having dinner with the Peshmerga when I was in Iraq. Cigar is a RAE ABR 14 RGPC. My drink was water, boring right, but I don’t drink. 11
Popular Post Goodfortune Posted March 16, 2020 Popular Post Posted March 16, 2020 Spending the weekend bunkered down in Los Angeles. Made some spicy lime shrimp.. Followed by a nice pour of Weller and a RASS for dessert. Stay safe and healthy out there everyone! 8
Popular Post Bohemio Posted March 16, 2020 Popular Post Posted March 16, 2020 Forgot to post this Saturday, It was only the princess and myself, and after running playing and reading for a few hours we both needed a rest, opened a bottle of blue label i receive on christmas from my in-law (i must be doing something right, lol) and rested with a petit edmundo, however if i knew she would nap for 2 hours i would've taken the bigger brother instead. Either way gave me enought time to prepare some shrimp, new york strip steak with oven roasted potatoes and tomatoes. This is the kind of day that make me realize how blessed i am. 8
Guest Nekhyludov Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 I decided to make a big pot of homemade lamb, pork, and beef meatballs with red gravy. It's my daughter's favorite and should keep us in leftovers for a few days while schools are closed. Followed by a nice MOE JUN 14 RyJ Cazadores, courtesy of @PrairieSmoke, and some Papua New Guinea coffee from a BOTL. Thanks for the great smoke, my friend!
Popular Post hodgegoblin Posted March 16, 2020 Popular Post Posted March 16, 2020 Some really nice posts here that make me proud we aren't all bunkered away hording toilet paper. We had grand plans of firing up the grill for some delicious beef steaks, but what a hell weekend it has been. So no beautiful food pictures, just cold pizza left overs from Friday night Did get outside to relax with a CLE Connecticut before jumping into another week. Found lots of roasted nut and cream, loved it. Enjoyed that with a tall Death's Door Vodka and Tonic with some lime juice. No ice because it's still only 27f (-2c). The evening was really calm and quiet with just my thoughts and the stars. Thank you for the reminder to slow it all down and enjoy life. (Apologies my camera lense is all scratched so it makes everything look like an 80s Polaroid) Maybe picking up some slight hints of leather in this one too. ? 5
Popular Post slowsmoke Posted March 16, 2020 Popular Post Posted March 16, 2020 Had some friends over and tried a new pizza attachment for the old Weber, turned out awesome. Wish I had taken more pics but was too busy eating and drinking. Had a Davidoff with a Manhattan, and a Monte media corona with a bottle of Colonel Taylor bourbon later in the evening. A wonderful day. 8
Fuzz Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 That pizza attachment is great. I've been eyeing one for years, but the freight cost to Australia is a killer! 1
daleighan Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 I enjoyed this great San Cristobal while starting the new season of Babylon Berlin while relaxing behind my house. I was really excited for the new season, and so far it is really good! 2

Popular Post teamrandr Posted March 16, 2020 Popular Post Posted March 16, 2020 I have been doing my best to stay in a positive mind frame. For me getting into the woods is the key. I went 5 miles with my Golden Rye. Followed up with some chicken and a La Trova. 6
Popular Post TTP21 Posted March 16, 2020 Popular Post Posted March 16, 2020 With 3 little ones and the suggestion to stay home, time for self is non-existent. That said, the opportunity to search for calm in the middle of a storm is one that brings to the forefront what is truly important. I deleted all social media from my phone, focused on the people in my life, and we enjoyed a weekend that was one of the most memorable for me. I took advantage of the opportunity to crack open a bottle of Old Ezra that was gifted to me at Christmas. I was saving it, but I think I'm done with that thought process for a little while. It was excellent. 117 proof and full of flavor. Nice burn, finished clean. Also grabbed an E2. This one was noticeably underfilled, so I 'wet' box it and it smoked without issue. Wasn't as full of twang and bell pepper sweetness like ones I've had in the past, but it was still good and certainly the rest of the box is filled with potential. Finally, just some quiet time with the littlest one. No worries, I practice EXTREME social distancing when smoking outside with the little ones around! 5
Ramon Allones Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 About to enjoy this wide Churchill with some cheap Costco coffee. Stocked up on that stuff just in case and it’s actually fantastic 3
Popular Post FireMedic Posted March 16, 2020 Popular Post Posted March 16, 2020 Big man's 6th birthday party took place this weekend, definitely a pick me up. Birthday is actually St. Patrick's day but who cares, party time!! And of course in the desert southwest it's not a party without a jumping castle! and a smoke for the occasion! What a beautiful smoke it is! little BBQ, a little corn hole. perfect end to the weekend! 6
Popular Post havanaclub Posted March 16, 2020 Popular Post Posted March 16, 2020 I should be on the beach in Cuba having this Siglo VI but instead I am home getting notice from my college that my practice must be suspended immediately, which is clearly the correct move. I decided to get some nice T-Bone steaks and try to enjoy the day with my family. More photos to come of the steaks UBM NOV 18 (a 10ct box I bought in Cuba last March break, figured it was fitting to light the first one up to try) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 5

It is pretty amazing. A great excuse to cook outside. After some trial and error, we found that using a second grate and pizza stone above the pie really helped everything cook more evenly. 11 hours ago, Deeg said: Green olives on pizza is the truth. 9 hours ago, Fuzz said: Missing pineapple, though. Sweet and salty. The real stars that day were some meats from a local butcher. The pizza with the green olives had a spicy sopresetta. We also had coppa, and some lamb sausage, that were insanely good with things like fennel, leeks, mushrooms. I'm getting hungry again just thinking about it.
