benfica_77 Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 Some pics of the new Monte LE...55 RG and 5 and 1/8ths in length so basically a girthy Robusto. Pricing is 500 euros yikes! The box looks stunning though, very nice presentation. https://halfwheel.com/montecristo-supremos-edicion-limitada-2019-arrive-on-shelves/371976/?fbclid=IwAR3AKLHJVR2y16jakREHzbjfBQBAN1fSI3ymcxmxjBGf1QQtIS2UoMfEI6I 2
Derboesekoenig Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 Those wrappers look AMAZING. This is one I'm definitely going to try to acquire in Cuba...hopefully they make enough of them. The boxes are getting fancier...
Head83 Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 I wish they came in a box of 10. Think It would be a much more appealing entry price not to mention, I can only imagine how big a box of 25 is on these jaw breakers!

I think the ex-Playboy airbrush artists were hired by HSA though. 1 1
bbguardsp Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 QDO is the only LE I'm genuinely interested in this year. Regular production Montes can already have LE characteristics so unless reviews mention noticeable flavor differences I'll park the coin elsewhere. Thanks for posting though. 3
NSXCIGAR Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 I'm officially being priced out of ELs. Wow. The disparity between regular production and ELs is getting absurd. Only 5 years ago Cohiba Robustos Supremos were $450. And 1966 was about $300 in 2011! Now we have unending Talisman production at $650. I doubt I'll be partaking in any more ELs. And I only ever sampled singles at the LCDH. I haven't bought a box of ELs since the lousy Monte Robustos in 2006. Especially considering the last Monte EL was really not that great (Dantes). The tiny HU Propios at $20/stick broke the camel's back for me. Far, far too much coin for the McRib of the Habanos world @PigFish 1

Looks like a standard Monte wrapper to me...might even say sub-par compared to previous Montecristo EL releases.

But yeah, still out off my price range for a box.

Pics may even be made of dummies for press releases. If you only look close enough you'll find that parts of the wrapper of Cig 5 are also being used (slightly more blurred) in Cig 4.

Kinda like how they pose the food for fast food commercials?? A.k.a. false advertising lol
Popular Post Reuben Posted January 28, 2020 Popular Post Posted January 28, 2020 Well I've been fortunate enough to have gotten a box of these just after the release date in Italy. They have been very tasty to my palette, but I will admit to you that I'm not the most experienced CC smoker. I find these Supremos to be superb. It has the flavor profile of Montecristo, but just a bigger fuller richer experience of what we have come to love in Monte. I dont have a bad thing to say about them and I highly recommend if you have a shot at them go for it! I have zero regrets! 6 1

If at all, the box-design would qualify for false-advertising for me, pretending to be a NC-release.
Popular Post Reuben Posted January 28, 2020 Popular Post Posted January 28, 2020 I forgot about my favorite pic I have of these gorgeous Chocolate Mocha almond latte morsels of love. I have smoked 10 of them in the last 5 months. It's all I can do to hold out but I'm averaging about 2 per month! 8

Now that they will be coming in fancy boxes I predict they are going to be next to impossible for the average person to acquire.
Tstew75 Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 I'll grab a box for long term b/c I'm a whore for all things Monte, but damn a 55rg? lol

Ah, that's not too bad then. Consistent with the last Monte EL. We'll see if the LCDH decides to mark it up to a stupid amount. 1
Popular Post cookj1 Posted March 16, 2020 Popular Post Posted March 16, 2020 I went on a 10km hike yesterday and most people wouldn’t dare smoke a nice cigar while doing something so anaerobic, but I love smoking and walking. First impressions: good God this is a big cigar. I cannot stand these jawbreakers. ...trying to be politically correct here but the term donkey c*ck is more appropriate. Second impressions: the wrapper is gorgeous. Happened to order this at the same time some Cohiba Magicos arrived and the wrappers are almost identical in shade. This is a gorgeous smoke. It’s rich. It’s medium/full. The aromas are opulent. Montecristo is just nailing the line lately. Across the brand, I can’t remember getting a bad cigar. Kudos where they are due. It did take 1 hour, 45 minutes to smoke this, but it would likely be a half an hour quicker under normal smoking conditions. It’s so worth smoking this slowly and enjoying it, however. I didn’t note any faults or flaws except for the ridiculous size. My mouth was dancing for a few hours post-smoke. It’s about as close to a classic I can give for such a young cigar. 6
JohnS Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Halfwheel released an updated review on the Montecristo Supremos in the past week. Although a common criticism against their reviews of Cuban cigars is the fact that they mark them quite hard, this review was quite favourable. The review can be found at the link below... https://halfwheel.com/montecristo-supremos-el-2019-2/448567/
