El Presidente Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 Your best cigar over the Christmas new year period? Montecristo Especial from 2008. Combined it with a Guinness (I hate you Steve). Choc cream heaven. rolled by a master, conceived by gods. 98 Brilliant. 2
Popular Post JohnS Posted January 2, 2019 Popular Post Posted January 2, 2019 La Puntilla (Rolled October 2018 - thanks @Fuzz for gifting it!). And if you want to gauge how good this was, it was only marginally better than a H.Upmann Sir Winston, Cohiba Robustos Supremos 2014 LE and 2015 Cohiba Siglo VI. Flavour profile and why was it so good? I know you were aiming for a slight Por Larranaga sweetness, Montecristo cocoa and nut flavour blend, Rob, however I don't know whether or not you and Hamlet hit upon a 'happy accident', but this one was unmistakable in how similar it was to aged 2011 H.Upmann Connoisseur No.1's I've smoked. And...many of us know how good these have been! 8 1
maxcjs0101 Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 On New Year’s, also my birthday last night, i had a Sancho Panza Corona from 2013 (if i remembered correctly) which was purchased from FOH and it was fantastic. Excellent draw & lots of coffee-cream on the retrohale and a tinge of spiciness on the palate. Paired it with some Grants 8yo whisky which brought out some truly magnificent flavours. Sorry i didnt take a photo as i was enjoying it so much. 1

JIK Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 Smoked a siglo vi last night, date unknown. May have been one of if not the best cigars I’ve ever had. Twang, coffee, cream, cinnamon in spades. One of the most flavorful cigars I’ve had, not to mention construction was flawless. 2

amberleaf Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 2013 Siglo III. I smoked a couple of them last year and they keep getting better and better. Lots of sweet hay with honey and nuts. Worst was a 2015 Magnum 50. Stick seemed well constructed but halfway through both the wrapper and binder split down its length . The thing just fell to pieces in my hand, never seen anything like it.

June 07. had half a dozen and the notes for the lot are screaming that they need more time.
shrink Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 Too many to count. Perhaps a tie between a 2008 Sir Winston and a 2008 Partagas Lusi from a 50 cab. 2
Popular Post slowsmoke Posted January 2, 2019 Popular Post Posted January 2, 2019 A Monte media corona on Christmas night, 50 floors above Times Square. The perfect little treat, snuck into a time and place that I did not think I would be able to smoke ? 6

cfc1016 Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 I had an AEM JUL 14 reyes the other day. Flavors were par for the course for a reyes (that is to say quite lovely). What was particularly remarkable about it though, was the buzz. It was such a relaxing smoke. i kind of just melted into the couch watching a movie and blissed out when that salty-pretzel taste hit around the end. God I love a reyes.

RijkdeGooier Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 Over the Christmas period I smoked a few good cigars This Esplendido Reserva Seleccion 2003 was the best of them 4

The 2011 H.Upmann Connoisseur No.1 is one of my favorite cigars that I have ever smoked (the 1998s were not to shabby too) and I'm glad I stocked up long ago and have 4 1/2 boxes still left in one of my coolidors. ? I did not smoke during the holidays because I was too busy with family and friends visiting. ? 1

peteando Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 Regios 2017 box. Just gingerbread all over the place. Super dark wrappers too. Makes me wish they weren't orphans (sigh)

anjimj Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 Had a delicious 2013 VR Unicos over the Christmas break. Just loads of cocoa and chocolate notes. Best cigar of 2018. 1
BJRPorter Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 Hands down 2001 CoLa on New Years Day. Had a really deep rich sweetness all the way through, maybe like molasses or maple. 2
