Weirdest flavour you have tasted in a cigar?

I have heard a few over the years with roast lamb being a favourite (Smithy or Wazza....can't quite recall) 

Laz was enjoying a Juan Lopez Seleccion Number 2 last week and said "hard candy....I always taste hard candy in a Juan Lopez 2"  I pressed on and he went on to say "candy and truffles"

When I think about it I can picture it. Truffles/mushrooms/earth etc. 

So what are the weirdest flavours you have tasted in a cigar?

There’s this fizzy chemical kind of taste I get sometimes which reminds me of grape soda.  I just experienced it last week with this cigar.  It was a pretty nice cigar (for a rainy, blustery 50 degree driving range session) until the final 3rd when it went astringent and metallic; for a few puffs the Cuban fizz plus the chemical taste gave me that strange grape soda taste.

Ran across blueberry and buttered-popcorn in a few Party E2 seconds I was smoking last summer when working in the yard. It was consistent across a few sticks - strange yet enjoyable.

New car smell. A kind of rubbery/metallic thing on the retro. 

Strangely, I’ve never had it again since I had my old fillings replaced...?

Soap. That's right... soap. And I hadn't just washed my hands or brushed my teeth. I think the cigar was a La Gloria Cubana Medaille d'Or. 

I've read that others have also had this unpleasant sensation. Some have opined that the roller hadn't rinsed their hands after washing.

The one for me is BBQ Ribs flavor in the first half inch of a Padron 1926 Anniversary No. 9, you couldn't mistake it for anything else!

No, i hadn't eaten ribs just prior, actually i hadn't had ribs for years when i smoked the Padron.

The weirdest flavour so far was in a HdM Regalos LE 2007. I bought a handful of singles about seven years back, all of them average at best apart from one that tastet like smoked ham! And I mean proper smoked ham, smoky, meaty, salty! Just like this stuff back home in Germany!

Soap. Consistently in a box of Choix Supreme. The rest of the box is well aged at this point?

 

The best is Marmalade in a Juan Lopez #2. That's  close to the hard cand Laz tasted.

A Monty 2...metallic. Strange metallic like leaving a spoon in your mouth. Burned very strange as well. I know it was a legit smoke...from a 24:24 box MEG Sep 16? None of the others were like that thankfully.

I got a blast of grape (like the old Alexander the Grape candy boxes) from the Party Series 1 EL 2017. Came out of nowhere too. It was gone as soon as it arrived.

Very strong perfume from Cohiba Pyramids Extra's. Smelled like an ol' Ho. Not that I've smelled any ol' Ho's. I read a lot!

I had a Gurkha cigar once..... the ‘cask blend, master blend 18 years, aged to perfection, Kaisad Hansotia, Nicaraguan Puro with Dominican Leaves’

It tastes like... a Gurkha... which is the weirdest flavour ever...

As mentioned above, a soapy flavour. That was not pleasant.

I've also had Turkish Coffee flavour specifically in the Monte 4 once. I'm still searching to get the flavour again. I guess I should mention that I had polished off a half bottle of Wyborowa vodka before lighting up the monte, so that could have done some psychosomatic wonders to my palate.

Fresh blueberry.  From a Monte 4 circa 2010.  I was blown away, never experienced it since in an M4 or any other cigar.

Fresh lemon zest from a Clear Havana. A WM Panatella from 1943/44.
