CigarsRLife Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 So I was talking to a friend last night while we smoked the last two of my Ramon Allones Club 2015 from our host. These have been some of my favorite cigars I have ever had, I was originally going to age a box of them, but found myself craving them weekly. My friend who is newer to cigars asked me "what is your favorite LE release", and unfortunately since I have been only collecting and smoking CCs for two years I haven't had many. Most of my collection is comprised of standard release cigars. This year I plan on buying at least a box of all LE cigars. So with that being said, I figured I would come here and ask what is your favorite LE of all time and why?
LeafLegionWW Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 RA 2011 - but good luck finding them best description - i have heard them referred to as "baby's milk" and i couldn't agree more
Popular Post Puros Y Vino Posted April 4, 2017 Popular Post Posted April 4, 2017 2006 Cohiba Piramides. (very rich smoking cigar) 2011 Cohiba 1966 (same, rich flavours, complex) 2015 Raman Allones Club Allones. (Typical RA flavours on steroids) 5
godpheonix Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 i've only started the hobby back in 2007 so the early LE's i have no idea but 2011 seems for me a special LE year with the RA Allones and the Cohiba 1966 releases. which are both truly great cigars and yet so different from each other. plus i really enjoy the HDM Regalos 2007 and Partagas D especial 2010 now, they have become something special. of those the one that stands out is the 1966, its just stunning! its one of those few cigars that just hits a class above the best out there. too bad its so dam expensive!!! i'd have 10 boxes in my humi!
Thomasdenaro Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 Out of the LE's I have had, I would have to say the Montecristo 520 edicion limitada 2012 Robusto extra is the one that springs straight to mind for me 3
Smallclub Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 Those who think the Regalos is a great EL haven't smoked the 2003 Hoyo Pyramid… 2
Notsocleaver Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 There was a window a few years back where you could get a cab of Mag 48 for less than a cab of Mag46 from the same year. I sprang for a couple of good looking boxes and that was worth it. Past that, I've never had one that was worth it. 3
CigarsRLife Posted April 4, 2017 Author Posted April 4, 2017 I guess the downside with getting some of these now is that they would be aged, and the experience of seeing that evolution from fresh to its currents state would be lost. I must say though that I have heard about the Cohiba 1966 and the RA 2011 multiple times before I joined this forum. I need to make it a point to track these down, even if its just a stick I must try them. I also need to order some boxes of the RA 2015 from Pres and let them sit this time. Has anyone had the Mag 56 LE? Thoughts? 1
landhoney Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 Cohiba 2003 DC's Cohiba 2004 Sublimes Cohiba 2006 Pyramids Monte Sublimes 2008 Cuaba Pyramid 2008 Magnum 48 2009 I like both the most recent RA LE's too.
JohnS Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 For the same reasons as @bundwallah mentioned, Cohiba 1966 LE 2011. 1
danny Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 First that came to mind was the '14 Partagas Seleccion Privada out of the more recent releases. Second one to come up was the Cohiba 1966, but I really don't think they're THAT great just yet; keyword - yet. I'm not a fan of the size, but the Robustos Supremos was actually better when fresh than the 1966 was, IMO. Recently the RA Club Allones and HU Magnum 56 seem to be getting a lot of praise, but feel like those need some time as well. Love, "Negative Nancy"
oliverdst Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 I havent smokerd all LE but those I smoked: 2005 RyJ Petit Piramides (was the best) 2010 Monte GM (the best now) IMHO
bigbanana14 Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 The Club Allones has been spectacular for me too. Also found the 07 Trinidads and 05 Montecristo D to be excellent smokes.
ebhead Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 520 (best smoking at this time - nuttiness and milk chocolate notes) 1966 (creaminess, and for what @bundwallah mentioned above) 1
LandCruiser Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 The Partagas Serie D Especial EL 2010 has become an absolute monster. In fact, of the two I have smoked, I can honestly say the last one was quite possibly the best cigar I have ever had. A tall claim indeed, but it was full of Partagas spice, with an unbelievable sweet cream, and thick velvety smoke that coated your palette. One of those unforgettable smoking experiences.... Now... to find another box... 1
dvickery Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 1492/1992 cubatabaco grand corona . Second best cigar I have had ( after a humble but perfect bolivar corona ) . derrek 1
RijkdeGooier Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 2003 Hoyo Piramides 2003 Cohiba Seleccion Piramides
ErikB Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 The Regalo 2007 but only because of the setting - a tasting at Boisdale Canary Wharf . And I was very fond of the Monte 520 at their release during the 2012 Festival. And how could I forget the Punch Medalla d' Oro - they got me through the World Cup in 2014Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
noreaster Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 01 Romeo Robusto... (may have been 00,don't exactly remember)
BrightonCorgi Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Has to be the Partagas Serie D No.1 Edición Limitada 2004 or Partagás Seleccíon Privada Edición Limitada 2014. Both are powerhouse cigars that demand respect while smoking!

Dimmers Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 1966, Monte GE and Monte 520 in that order I think. I havent smoked any of the more recent stuff though. I actually liked the few ive sampled to date. But for me there wasnt much partagas dna there , rather cream and ceder. Medium at best. Though it has been a few years since I tried one, will have to dig out the box and sample again.
