Just curious here as FOH is a great resource with tons of knowledge and great people it seems most other boards I've come across are either more NC oriented, minimally trafficked, or full of wankers.

Anyone recommend other boards where one can have a decent conversation about the hobby as it relates to Habanos in particular with a congenial membership?

Uhhh...I don't know if we're at liberty to have that topic of discussion here lookaround.gif

I recently read the rules and there's no mention of prohibiting talking of other boards. Keep this thread in the spirit of helping a fellow FoH member.

Im a member of a good Aussie board but that's no use to non Aussies. Not a member of any other forum.

Should be free to discuss as long as nobody starts bad mouthing another board.

FOH has been the only cigar forum I read. Most of the other forums I'm a member of are nerd/geek related... lookaround.giflol3.gif

It might not be in the rules that other boards should not be discussed. I don't know, I'm too lazy to read them.

But at least out of courtesy to the owner of this board who, believe it or not, does put time and effort into making this board work :), it's probably not the best form to discuss the merits of other cigar discussion boards on this board.

I'm not saying this because I've been thrown a bit of "power" on this forum, or because I happen to like the owner. I would say the same on any forum.

Everybody should join all the forums they like, but, I think, take it to pm.

They are out there, most of them aren't in the "dark web".

Also, as I've seen time and time again on other boards, it's people with grudges against other forums who tend to post the most on threads like these.

I'm a member of a predominantly NC forum that has a Habanos section, but it's all but useless in comparison to FoH. The only good that came out of it was it forced me to look for a better Habanos forum, which led to FoH.

Liberty and discretion are different things.

Should be free to discuss as long as nobody starts bad mouthing another board.

In general, I agree. In general.

<<name any general purpose cigar forum>> has a Habanos section. I don't frequent it much but its there.

Commonly the case. I have not seen a one that is as vibrant as FOH in total.

Eminently reasonable.

I don't think this is the case here.

I agree with this common courtesy.

this is the best that i have found for those exact reasons. I like NCs and i watch those, but this is the only forum that i can find that has this level of knowledge and activity without the people being arrogant jerks. no need to go elsewhere.

The "Other" forums I have seen make me feel like I am babysitting someones little children.

This forum really is several levels above anything else I have seen.

Yeah it's about how I feel, this has been the best forum that I've found with people who seem to know how to use a search function. It's also more mature I feel.

I found this site to be accommodating to newbs when I first came, overall. Much less arguments/debates on CC vs. NC subject. Although it has come up but usually in nicer way. Very low ratio of internet assholes to good people here. Don't get attacked on a personal level. My kind of place.

As long as we are not bashing other boards (or the people therein) I have no problem.

A lack of time precludes me from spending much time on other cigar boards. Like everything, boards evolve over time and that evolution can suit you or not.

So feel free to recommend other boards if you sincerely believe they are worthwhile and add something to the cigar community. However, resist the urge to denigrate any boards no matter how feral.

I am a member of many different boards for different hobbies and rarely would i see an owner of a board make as gracious an offer as above.

It only makes a stronger case for the courtesy of not discussing other boards here.....
