Decided to pull the last of a 2012 box - absolutely delightful cigar

In my happy place. A CCE, glass of Michters ( new to me and not bad at all ) and peace and quiet. No one else seems to understand the fire pit for more than 20 minutes and I'm glad.

D4  LTA JULY 22   Have not smoked one of these in years.  Many years.  Box of 10 ROTT. maybe the most rustic Cuban cigar I’ve ever seen.  Fear not. Just a little past this picture , Huge clouds of smoke that I can identify as tobacco and really nothing else.  Perfect draw.  Strength is way down low.  Based on looks I didn’t have high hopes.  Surprisingly good

Michters is just a wonderful rye.  One of the best IMO ...and their bourbon is really good too.  IMO on the same level as Buffalo Trace though (in my part of the woods) a lot easier to find.  While not a Blanton's (or whatever Pappy's people want to bring up), it is just "pleasure in a glass" and (at least for now) more "under the radar" for those who enjoy whiskey (with an "e") with no need for a name on the bottle.  

(Don't get your "dander up" all you Scott's.  Your "whisky" is also wonderful -- (perhaps) the most wonderful in the world; so good that the best distillers in Japan perfected it too, alas  ; it's just not what this post was about.)

A weekend favorite, always great, cheers!

This is turning out to be quite pleasant. Sitting out on the deck to watch the thunderstorms roll through today, decided to just grab something cheap and different. I’ve had this single kicking around for probably 5 years, even had a slight dusting of plu…er, mold, very slight. But it had a distinct, enticing aged aroma to it. And I’ll be a monkey’s uncle if this thing isn’t smoking beautifully. Mostly cocoa with a nice tea twang to it. Pairing well with coffee, lightning and thunder. Cheers!

Been a minute since I've posted on the forum. Big life changes. Decided to leave the once great city of Chicago for the greaner pastures of Northwest Arkansas. Finally getting settled here and had time for a nice ETP May 16 No. 4 today. 

If any of y'all are in Northwest Arkansas, hit me up and we can grab a stick at One Eyed Jacks or Cigar District.

NWA has grown a lot since I graduated from University of Arkansas. Its almost recession proof with Walmart, JB Hunt and Tyson Chicken. I try to make it down there from KC every year for a sporting event or to float and fish an Ozark stream. Used to be a couple active members from Springdale on here .

First Hup Mag 54. Thanks @williamthewolf. It was darn good. Flavors started out very crisp and pointed with some hints of white pepper before quickly developing into a delicious middle third reminiscent of some Hup CM tubos and HUP HC's from 2016 that I've been smoking with much enjoyment. Rich, creamy, very tasty, with some leather, nougat, short bread and just the right amount of thoughtful mineral-ness on the finish that made me smack my lips. The sharper finish contrasted and transitioned nicely with the transition back into the deeper HUP flavors of the subsequent puff.

The only downfall of this cigar was the last 1/4 to 1/3rd which had some combustion issues similar to those I have experienced in similar sizes like the MC PE, or RyJ PC. 8.5/10! I'd smoke it again gladly.

I really like HU Magnum 54. I also think it’s a underrated cigar for some reason. The blend is great, the draw is good and the smoke time in on spot. Just waiting for green light in U.S to start grabbing some boxes in 24:24.
