A Hoyo de Monterrey Maravillas (Colección Habanos 2015). At 9 1/4 inches and 55 ring gauge, it is the length of a Diadema, and the same diameter as the diadema at it’s widest point, only this cigar is that width for its entire length. For a size comparison, it makes this Esplendido look scrawny by comparison. Happy Father’s Day to all the other dads out there! Enjoy your day brother! 9 hours ago, SirVantes said: + : tastes like an Upmann - : tell me again why I should pay more for this than a Connie 1? I need that ashtray. Popular Post JohnS Posted June 21, 2020 Popular Post Posted June 21, 2020 Montecristo No.4 UEB Ago 2018 This UEB Ago 2018 box just seems to be the "gift that keeps on giving". Usually those gifts have arrived in the form of yummy nut and citrus twang flavour bombs, today this Montecristo No.4 really hit the mark with its strong, deep cocoa and milk coffee flavours. Incidentally, there were some nut and citrus twang notes there too. Construction was absolutely spot-on in regards to draw, ash-length and burn. Three-quarters of this box is gone, so I should finish it soon I guess. It's been a fun and enjoyable ride thus far! Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo de Rio Seco ABO Mar 2019 I must say, that in my humble opinion, this is one very 'hot' cigar right now. I don't usually smoke the same cigar vitola back-to-back, but if I did, the Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo de Rio Seco would be up there as one of the obvious preferences, from my humidor, for doing so. They just seem to deliver time-and-time again. I don't think I can get enough of the light cedar, ginger spice, marshmallow and cream texture flavour profile right now, nor have I become accustomed with the fact that this is a Le Hoyo line HdM cigar and I don't have to give it significant rest, like I've done with my other Le Hoyo cigars in the past. What the heck, I've gone ahead and ordered another 10-count box of Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo de Rio Seco from a 24:24 listing recently. (And) Good thing I did, they were all gone within the hour! 33
Popular Post torsion Posted June 21, 2020 Popular Post Posted June 21, 2020 Sunday Funday, Happy Father's Day. Montecristo 520 EL 2012.TUO SEP12 I had intended to smoke the last skinny of my selected picks but I fancied something different a wider RG tonight. Just looked back and it's almost 2 years since I last smoked one of these.Still f@ckin good! Seeing more people about past few nights as I sit here and enjoy these smokes. Learning about the Reading, UK incident last night raises alot of concerns and mixed emotions about the subject of personal protection and self preservation-a subject that those close to me know I'm also very passionate about. Be vigilant, stay alert. To thrive amongst chaos you need to train realistically and cut out the bs.Probably a bit too deep for a cigar group but unfortunately there's the odd few out there that want to spoil life for the rest of us. Popular Post LLC Posted June 22, 2020 Popular Post Posted June 22, 2020 Good weekend. I think it was about a week ago I posted up the first RAE MAR 15 Punch Punch from a cab that was good but a bit more moist than normal or ideal. Could be it was in the back of the humidor unopened for a number of years but at the same time I took a second one out and dry boxes it. Had it yesterday and it was very good and certainly more what I’m used to. Later yesterday a LUB NOV 13 Connie A.Today for Father’s Day a good start with a LAR SEP 13 ERDM Infantes. This box always bring back great memories of a guys trip to Havana and lots of time spent with Hamlet at Partagas and the November festival. Then later a SMO SEP 11 CORO with a frozen Mojito. Closed my eyes and though I was at La Terraza in Havana. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 28 1
Popular Post BlueRidgeFly Posted June 22, 2020 Popular Post Posted June 22, 2020 Connie A BRE JUL 19 FOH Clearance. Also meh, but the last third was good. Tight draw. Had to just sip this to get it to return some good flavors, otherwise it got brash. Sipping the Dragon's Milk was totally fine though ?... Will revisit this box someday. RASS MSU NOV 18 - Last one I tried from this box was four months ago. Each has been a little better than the last, but all have had wonky burn issues and got kind of grubby as they went. Decided to dry box this one yesterday, and despite the humidity last night it was really good. Not much stewed fruit (a little about halfway through) but rich coffee/cream and a nice nuttiness persisted the whole way. Nothing fancy, just a straight-up good cigar. Happy Fathers Day to all you dads. Had a nice FaceTime chat with my son and his girlfriend this afternoon, then ended up fussing with: RASCC something-something-2018 by the swollen Shenandoah River. These have not changed a bit in a year. Decent wrapper, nice cold aroma, but a mediocre smoke. I'm just going to forget about the last few for a long while now. 30
