Popular Post Jbhunter223 Posted September 13, 2019 Popular Post Posted September 13, 2019 Work was slow so I said to hell with it and left early. Though I’d better try one of these ‘00 Palmas cello before the little man gets home from school. 19
Popular Post canadianbeaver Posted September 13, 2019 Popular Post Posted September 13, 2019 My turn to smoke from the trade with @Edward7 We hardly have Bolivar so I asked to teach us a thang or two. And he did! the picture on the right is the illustration I worked on all day on a Fender Stratocaster. Thought you guys would dig it. CB 25
Popular Post JohnS Posted September 13, 2019 Popular Post Posted September 13, 2019 Montecristo Media Corona circa 2016 (thanks @Luca!) Thank you @Luca for gifting me this Montecristo Media Corona. It's been awhile since I've had them, at least a few years, but my memory of these when they first came out was that they were little 'powerhouses'. Tonight's sample was nothing like this, and this is by no means a bad thing. The Media Corona is exactly the same dimensions as a H.Upmann Half Corona (44 ring gauge x 90 mm or 3½ inches), typically smoked in 25 to 35 minutes on average. I remember them being like 'cocoa bombs' when I had a few years ago, this MMC was much milder and complex. It was not unlike a quality Montecristo No.4 in its cocoa and milk coffee blend, with a hint of nut and gorgeous citrus on the edges. It only got more stronger in flavour towards the very end, like just past halfway of the last third. Until then it was every bit a good as the cigars I been enjoying recently that are much more esteemed, such as the Punch 48 or Bolivar Belicosos Finos...yes, it was that good! Like some recent near three-year old H.Upmann Half Coronas I've enjoyed, if you ever get the opportunity to put away these smaller cigars for some time, do so. I can reassure you that they can reward you with a surprising and pleasing complexity. 22

Popular Post Fugu Posted September 13, 2019 Popular Post Posted September 13, 2019 Can't help it - Nice wrapper, perfect construction, excellent burn - one couldn't ask for more, besides... a pretty boring smoke. 'Special blend'?! Then again - a humble BT3..... 18 1

Popular Post Deeg Posted September 14, 2019 Popular Post Posted September 14, 2019 PLMC LGR AGO 18. Beautiful light Colorado wrappers. Box has had a month to settle, and based on this stick they’re already at full go. In terms of pure flavor experience, hard to beat the humble Montecarlo when they’re like this. Taste was pure caramel macchiato - creamy caramel, coffee and milk chocolate. I’ve had a hint of citrus in a couple of MCs but apart from that, just about a perfect smoke. 93/100. 21

Upmann No. 2 was the one I smoked first and enjoyed most of the two. The Diplomaticos though had a beautiful oily wrapper with a nice sheen to it. The Diplomaticos was with a '18 box code (I don't remember the rest of the code). Was not able to check the Upmann box code although I suspect it to be from recent years as well. 1
