Popular Post RDB Posted July 16, 2019 Popular Post Posted July 16, 2019 This was ok, not brilliant. QdO Coronas Claro, circa 2015 I believe. Quite mild bodied, the main flavour I get from this is tea, with rich tea biscuits! Not hugely complex and not much evolution, but a nice ‘straight’ smoke. Perhaps a little ashy-tasting towards the end. By comparison with a similar size smoke, I hugely prefer Punch Punch of the same age for their greater richness and exoticism. 14

Recent Hoyos aren't really my cup of tea, so I'm probably not the best judge. Typical Hoyo flavors, then it seemed to devolve into charred wood in the final third.

Popular Post JohnS Posted July 16, 2019 Popular Post Posted July 16, 2019 El Rey del Mundo Choix Suprême MLU Nov 2018 This six-month old cigar came from a quarter pack acquisition from a 24:24 listing a few months ago. If you can recall, we had the option to get the darker wrappered or lighter wrappered ERdM Choix Supreme. Our forum members were split 50/50 down the middle. I opted for the lighter wrapper. El Pres recommends to rest these for 30 to 60 days after you get them young and then dry box for a few days. This is sound advice. The El Rey del Mundo Choix Supreme is best enjoyed at around mild-medium and under in strength and with subtle flavours, after all, it's a lighter cigar in the Habanos catalogue. This had the quintessential ERdM shortbread and honey with some almond nut and a lovely citrus tang throughout which kept the cigar flavoursome and interesting for me. In comparison to older ERdM Choix Supreme I've had, the almond nuttiness was not as evident and older ones can become more creamy, which is when they reach their peak according to my preference. 24

Lotusguy Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 From a 50 cab from 2002 or prior? How good would it be 17+ years? What a shame the Quai d'Orsay Panatelas was the last regular production Ninfas deleted in 2010. It’s from one of my dress boxes (cab version wouldn’t have a band) - the 2002 cab is currently on the way to me. It still had plenty of flavor. The key is to take is slow and easy so as to not overeat such a thin RG stick. 1

Popular Post Deeg Posted July 17, 2019 Popular Post Posted July 17, 2019 El Principe, LGR May 18 (I think). My observation, apart from how delicious these are, is that I've never had a CC where the burn was so consistently perfect. I haven't smoked a ton of them (a box purchase is in my future) but every damn one of them has burned laser straight, not a single touchup needed. Am I just lucky, or are they usually like that? One thing I notice is that they've all had quite thin, even fragile wrappers - and I suspect that's a big part of the reason for the unerringly even burn. 19
