June ‘00 Diplomaticos #3 - how about exactly 25 years old haha! Though I do prefer the Monte in this vitola these are damn good smokes. Lit this one up Father’s Day morning with espresso. Some of the myriad flavors included sourdough toast, rum cream, nutmeg, shortbread and even a little marshmallow & toffee. Fantastic example of this particular Diplo. Nursed this bugger for an hour and a half. Perfect start to my day.

Capped off Father’s Day yesterday with a PSD4 and mimosa, an interestingly solid pairing. Shout out to the dads!

Caught up with @LaoFan last Friday while he was visiting Shanghai.

 Also smoked this delicious MAR E2 over the weekend.

On Sunday it was Father’s Day and had a great dinner, wine and cigar.  

Japaneses Wagu Striploin which was the best steak I’ve ever had. 

Penfolds BIN 704 2018 and as the first vintage they did in Napa Valley. 

BME AGO 11 Cohiba 1966 along with an Americano and a great rum brought back from Havana a few years ago.

Thanks man. Yeah I got this online years ago so I am not sure if it’s hard to find now. It has 3 punch sizes and they are very sharp.

Punch SDP RAT OCT 2020. I figured this NC weather would bust the wrapper. It's  82°F/88% RH, muggy as all get out, but she burned like a champ. Going to try and mow, pack a bag, grab some DC's and other heavy hitters, and head to the coast for the rest of the week,  depending on when the wife gets in from work.

Perfecpunch is the best I've used too, and I like to use the punch on most of my cigars. Very thin steel on the punches make it a lot less likely to damage the head while punching.

Available every once in a while when I think to look on eBay. Always over $100 so no incentive for me as I’m not a collector and will be using. I’m almost always a v cut guy anyway…Consistency is next to godliness with a good v cutter.

Been curious about his punch since it came out. May need to take the plunge. Then again I’m going to the Derm on Thursday and he has some Killer surgical punches...

It's worth it. Not too pricey, plus it's cool looking and lightweight. Easy on the pocket in both ways 😁

FPG OLSU (May ‘98) Montecristo Especial - 7 1/2 X 38 - this was the first Monte I fell in love with after the #2 which is the one that hooked me on Havana cigars in the first place. Copious smoke right off the bat but the first third was a tad dull. Hey, they aren’t all perfect! Second third shows why this is a favorite and the one I smoke more than any other Monte. Leather, raw almonds & apricot! Final third absolute Montecristo heaven. Damn it’s bittersweet finishing a truly magnificent smoke.
