El Presidente Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 From the hip, how has 2024 in general been for you? Health, family, finances, faith (if any), study, interests....whatever. If you rolled them all together and gave the year a mark out of 5.......which of the poll most reflects your year.
Popular Post Ford2112 Posted December 11, 2024 Popular Post Posted December 11, 2024 My health took a huge dive, was diagnosed with Pseudo Dementia. At least I lost some weight. Finances are a shambles. Faith...whatever. BUT I got to travel and go fishing and buy a camper bus. Still, I voted this shit show a 1. 7 3

Our Deep Dive was one of the highlights of my year on 2424. You are a good man, Charlie Brown 2 1
HellfirePeninsula Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Finances - great. Health - not so great, probably sacrificed for said finances. 1 1
RedLantern Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 High highs and low lows. Accomplished something I'm really proud of this summer. Having a absolute ball watching my son grow up and start reading and interacting with the world as his own person (he's 5), health is generally good, and marriage is chugging along. On the other hand my longest and best friendship appears to be over or perhaps permenantly damaged, work is middling at best, and mid life crisis is setting in. 1
riderpride Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Oh, dang. 2024 was rough. First off - I didn't anticipate being a witness/responder to a j-walker getting plowed by a garbage truck when I woke up today. On top of that we've had 2 Force Majeure-like events at work, taken a major build on our Customer interface, a 3rd party to our asset going on an unforeseen prolonged outage resulting us wading into unprecedented territory, evacuating a hurricane on vacay, and a close family member getting diagnosed with cancer for a 2nd time, and getting a false all-clear before disappearing in Italy's med system for ~12 hours without notifying anyone of a change in hospitals with the ambulance. As the late, great Tom Petty sang 'you can stand me up at the gates of hell...' Best moment this year was getting the family to UCF @ Fla Gators. That was a truly spiritual experience. Defiantly- 'whatcha got for me '25???' Enjoy and embrace each day all! Cheers Edit - sorry for the gravity. 1 2
Li Bai Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 At least I got my hands on a wonderful box of Monte Especial, which is nice 2

Duxnutz Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Good, voted a 4. Haven’t bought a Rolex yet but career milestone year and we’re packing up the condo in Hawaii to move to hopefully something more permanent/sustainable. I’ve got 150 bottles of bourbon and close to 200 boxes of cigars in transit as we speak so fingers crossed I don’t need to edit this post to a 1. 2
Popular Post SCgarman Posted December 11, 2024 Popular Post Posted December 11, 2024 To sum it up short and sweet; Every day above ground is a GOOD day. No matter what!!!! 5
Popular Post gormag38 Posted December 11, 2024 Popular Post Posted December 11, 2024 Overall this year went pretty well. Marriage - solid. Job - still chugging along (which is nothing to complain about). Finances- where'd all my money go?! Health - How'd I put on this weight?! Golf - why can't I hit the damn ball straight?! 😆 (truthfully the golf game has been in good form for me, even though I'm getting out far less than I used to. Overall it has been a bright spot for me this year) The best has been watching my daughter grow into the hilarious, maddening toddler that she is. She's 2 and a half now and has changed SO MUCH in the past year. Her personality is forming right in front of me and to see that raw innocence/curiosity while learning what it means to be a good person is one of the biggest joys in my life. To put the cherry on top my wife and I welcomed the arrival of our son a couple months ago! I am beyond grateful I get to help mold and protect another little person. 5
Ciscojohansson Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 2024 was a great year until the middle of November. Tragedy struck my small family, something I would not wish on my worst enemy, and 2024 is now the worst year of my life. But life must go on and one must be able to find consolation and joy in the good things in life. I plan to crack some special boxes when I get the chance, and hope for a great 2025. 4 2

joeypots Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 I had to vote 5 this year. Health for me and the bride is excellent. Many good friends. Semi retirement is working beautifily. Financially 👍🏻👍🏻. Lots of good cigars. So much to be grateful for, life is good. 1
SMELTZ Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Without listing the long list of things that went wrong this year, I tend to focus on what I am grateful for. Looking at the positive side of things works for me and I have so much to be grateful for, even though the negatives outway the positives. I hope those that have had a bad year can focus on the positives. Hoping for a better and positive 2025 to everyone. 1
Popular Post westg Posted December 11, 2024 Popular Post Posted December 11, 2024 I just woke up next to my beautiful partner. It's 4.30 am. I feel truly blessed. I will drive her to work in an hr or two. Her daughter is my 'besty' , we go to the gym together, beach together, movies together and laugh hard at everything together. Last week, last month, last year...I care not. Today is my day surrounded by beautiful people. I need to put another tube thread up because I had the most amazing Mag 46 from 2014 and a 1974 R&J No 2. That is far more important to me than my job. I think I will call it, "Riding the Tube". I wish peace, love and happiness to everyone in FOH land in 2025. 4 4

Popular Post Miner Posted December 12, 2024 Popular Post Posted December 12, 2024 Over the past 14 years my daughter has been to hell and back. On Tuesday she graduated, Bachelor of Music I'm the happiest, proudest Dad on the planet Life's good 11
Greenhorn2 Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Anyone remember the dog in Joe Dirt with his cods stuck to the porch? I am that dog, just waiting on a spatula. 4
BlueRidgeFly Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 I voted for (4) all things considered. Lots of good times with friends and family, completed the Wyoming Cutt-Slam and camped/fished all over those mountains like a dirtbag for a few weeks, my son got married... would have voted for (5) but for a couple bummers. But all in all good! 1
