I have a very generous friend (member here) that trades wine for aged cigars. I have a small handful from him that I select from to celebrate while I try to ‘win’ that box of Sir Winston’s / Lusi’s from 24:24.

I do celebrate milestones and congrats on your recent accomplishment. To be honest, these days it would be any pyramid or other larger format that now cost approx 30-40$ a stick.

I had a good win yesterday. It was a long time coming and so I rewarded myself with something a little bit special. It was superb by the way :cigar:

You finally got the rights to use the brand "La Cachimba"? :P

Ah the fabled PL Magnums.  🙏  For me, the La Escepcion Selectos Finos has been that cigar. Runner up the CoLa.

After a little over 50 years, that Por Larranaga Magnum is no longer 50 ring gauge x 172 millimetres or 6¾ inches in length, that's for sure. Hope you enjoyed it, El Pres!

As for a celebratory cigar, I'd probably opt for something Cohiba like a 1966 LE, Robustos Supremos LE, Talisman LE or even a regular production Piramides Extra.

I have a small box of Cohiba 1966 LE 2011s, that is already down to 5. Best I have at the moment until I chance on more!

For a sports team winning a championship (MSU, or any Detroit pro team): Monte A (thanks for idea a year or so back @Chas.Alpha 😁)

For a personal/professional reason: 2012 Siglo VI, CoLa, Espy, 2012 CPE. (The bigger Cohibas I own now are almost entirely special occasion smokes.)

Big occaisions are very simple occaisions to me. When my Uncles/Cousins stop by the House or when my brother or dad come over. That's when I break out a special occaision cigar.

In general CC's are now special occaision cigars just because of how difficult they are to obtain. Used to be my everyday smokes but it is what you make of it. Had some great Bolivar PC's the other day with my cousin then we shifted to an Alfonso Extra Añejo. I have a couple Edmundo Dantes and a handful of BHK 52/56 that I am saving for no particular reason along with a Monte 80th. Those will probably get consumed with my brother but we have a number of smokedowns lined up including the new Fuente/Padron Collab so honestly, there is no telling when I am going to smoke those.

Would love for a few more of my immediate friends to smoke but they just don't like the taste. Even on really great tasting cigars.

Cohiba anything. It’s hard to pick based on anything but specific boxes in my stash because Cuban cigars can vary so much. Some boxes are blessed and some aren’t.

2012 Siglo VI vs 2018 MCDE? That’s a tough call. Both are celebration worthy.

Question is does the UK regional Magnificos taste anything like these Magnums!? Apparently a recreated blend from memory by Vichot or so the boast goes.
