Popular Post El Presidente Posted June 19, 2024 Popular Post Posted June 19, 2024 From time to time we all need to celebrate an achievement. Anyone who doesn't celebrate milestones needs to give themselves an uppercut. I had a good win yesterday. It was a long time coming and so I rewarded myself with something a little bit special. It was superb by the way In terms of cigars, when that achievement/celebratory moment arrives.......what would be your "go to"? 20 2
Popular Post Chas.Alpha Posted June 19, 2024 Popular Post Posted June 19, 2024 I have 5 Montecristo A that I will share with friends on one special day! 😈 Or, they’ll be up on BR in 2047. 😔 5
99call Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 Whatever that win was Rob congrats! Have you finally managed to section Ken?
99call Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 For me it's a nice glass of calvados and something old that's either Sancho, Punch or QDO. 3
Popular Post Chibearsv Posted June 19, 2024 Popular Post Posted June 19, 2024 I’ll celebrate with you. Kon Tiki! What a fantastic and well balanced cigar. Cheers brother! 12
wjs Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 I have a very generous friend (member here) that trades wine for aged cigars. I have a small handful from him that I select from to celebrate while I try to ‘win’ that box of Sir Winston’s / Lusi’s from 24:24.
Habanoschris Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 I do celebrate milestones and congrats on your recent accomplishment. To be honest, these days it would be any pyramid or other larger format that now cost approx 30-40$ a stick.
GP012 Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 Wow, Rob with a haymaker right out of the gate. '02 Sir Winstons are my weapon of choice. 1

Popular Post Shakey Posted June 20, 2024 Popular Post Posted June 20, 2024 Celebrated a recent birthday with a CoRo and some 13 year rhum agricole. Humble stuff for this audience but they are two of my favorites. 7
Popular Post Greenhorn2 Posted June 20, 2024 Popular Post Posted June 20, 2024 My favorite; a Cohiba Piramides Extra. That or an Esplendidos/Lanceros. Sorry, I like those damn Cohibas. 6
TheDonTX Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 @El Presidente Wow. Never even heard of this one. How was it? And congrats on your win 👊🏼
Puros Y Vino Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 Ah the fabled PL Magnums. 🙏 For me, the La Escepcion Selectos Finos has been that cigar. Runner up the CoLa. 1

And congrats on your win 👊🏼 The Por Larranaga Magnum has always been my favourite cigar. Soft, light, floral, slight cinnamon stick opening. Built steadily into the second third .......black sweetened tea was on the mind. Finished true medium bodied with the black tea joined by cedar and citrus zest /lime? couldn't quite nail that final taste. 95. 9
JohnS Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 After a little over 50 years, that Por Larranaga Magnum is no longer 50 ring gauge x 172 millimetres or 6¾ inches in length, that's for sure. Hope you enjoyed it, El Pres! As for a celebratory cigar, I'd probably opt for something Cohiba like a 1966 LE, Robustos Supremos LE, Talisman LE or even a regular production Piramides Extra. 4
SUP8333 Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 I have a small box of Cohiba 1966 LE 2011s, that is already down to 5. Best I have at the moment until I chance on more!
Popular Post Li Bai Posted June 20, 2024 Popular Post Posted June 20, 2024 Maybe a Monte A but if I were to celebrate big time right now, I think I'd go to a Davidoff N°1 (Cuban, only have one 😅) or maybe a Reynaldo 2016 custom roll Salomones, lancero or double corona gifted to me by a VERY generous compadre. 5
Li Bai Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 This is some material for @ATGroom, those bands are different from those mentioned in CCW's PL Magnums. 😉 What a splendid cigar it must be to be your celebratory one Rob! 😍😍😍 1
gormag38 Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 For a sports team winning a championship (MSU, or any Detroit pro team): Monte A (thanks for idea a year or so back @Chas.Alpha 😁) For a personal/professional reason: 2012 Siglo VI, CoLa, Espy, 2012 CPE. (The bigger Cohibas I own now are almost entirely special occasion smokes.) 1
GerardMichaelTX Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 Big occaisions are very simple occaisions to me. When my Uncles/Cousins stop by the House or when my brother or dad come over. That's when I break out a special occaision cigar. In general CC's are now special occaision cigars just because of how difficult they are to obtain. Used to be my everyday smokes but it is what you make of it. Had some great Bolivar PC's the other day with my cousin then we shifted to an Alfonso Extra Añejo. I have a couple Edmundo Dantes and a handful of BHK 52/56 that I am saving for no particular reason along with a Monte 80th. Those will probably get consumed with my brother but we have a number of smokedowns lined up including the new Fuente/Padron Collab so honestly, there is no telling when I am going to smoke those. Would love for a few more of my immediate friends to smoke but they just don't like the taste. Even on really great tasting cigars. 3
joeypots Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 Cohiba anything. It’s hard to pick based on anything but specific boxes in my stash because Cuban cigars can vary so much. Some boxes are blessed and some aren’t. 2012 Siglo VI vs 2018 MCDE? That’s a tough call. Both are celebration worthy. 2
ha_banos Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 Question is does the UK regional Magnificos taste anything like these Magnums!? Apparently a recreated blend from memory by Vichot or so the boast goes.
Popular Post Justins123 Posted June 20, 2024 Popular Post Posted June 20, 2024 I have a super secret singles box (which is just an old Padron box) where I keep random singles that I don’t want to get lost in the shuffle. 14 1
