El Presidente Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 Super Bowl LVII has all the signs of a game for the ages. How do you see it playing out? I can't pick it. I will be in and out of FOH Zoom Monday during the game. You are welcome to join me 2
MrBirdman Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 It won’t surprise anyone here familiar with me that I’m picking the Eagles. It’s the best team in the franchise’s history. Even with their defense they’ll need to score, and have the weapons to do so. They will try to use the same plan they’ve worked successfully all year: take a first half lead and then establish the run. In theory, they have the horses to do that and should win, maybe even handily. But QBs like Mahomes live to turn “theory” into the stuff of nightmares. Should be a very good game. Two best teams in football - can’t ask for much more. 3
cigaraholic Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 The smartest coach with the best quarterback, where have I seen this many times before.... Chiefs 1

KCCubano Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 As a Kansas City resident and former season tix holder for 20+ years I am a tad leery. As with our last SB with TB we are pretty beat up! Be nice to go in 100% but thats the nature of the beast. Bring on the Kelce Bowl!

They are favored this time around. A scenario that makes me a little uneasy as a lifetime Iggles fan. All in all we'll see a better match up this Sunday than in recent bowls in my opinion. This'll be one exciting game that's for certain.

These kinds of games defy reductive analysis. I really think anything can happen. .
dominattorney Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 I'm just glad we got our ads placed early. At the beginning and end of halftime in our local market.
Pharmacovigilant Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 As a lifelong Eagles fan from the Philly area I’ve grown accustomed to disappointment but this time I’m confident for 2 reasons - their dominant O Line and their dominant D Line. 🦅 Birds win 34-20. Grease the poles! 1

Ford2112 Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 If Rocky could beat Apollo Creed, the Phillies can pull this off!
Çnote Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 This is the least interesting SB for me in almost 20 years. I have virtually no interest at all, but will probably be on Zoom with the game in the background, now that I know that's an option.
Chibearsv Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 Chiefs win coin toss and defer. Eagles take an early lead. Officials lean some calls in favor of the Chiefs before halftime to keep it tight. Chiefs take lead in third quarter. Officials lean some calls in Eagles favor and game comes down to last possession and an Eagles field goal to win....or not 😁 1
PigFish Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 All I can think of is where 50 years went? My dad and I went to SB 7. 2

Chiefs 31 Phllies 28 because Mahomes, Kelce and Butker in the final drive. I like the chiefs players and KC BBQ, but ownership can kiss my ass over that LA move vote. Obligatory, f*ck Stan Kroenke follow up statement. Huh? There was a vote to move Chiefs to Los Angeles? WTF? So, what to eat Sunday for dinner? Kansas City BBQ or Philly Cheese steaks? 1
Corylax18 Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 Go Chiefs!! I like them by just a hair, because they've been here before. 50 minutes ago, therealrsr said: that LA move vote. Really bad stadiums. The Edward Jones dome was 25 years old and hadn't been renovated in nearly 15 years. It hadn't been up to NFL standards in years. Kroenke was clearly looking for an exit strategy and St. Louis left the door wide open. The new compound he built in LA is astounding.(As long as the weather is good) The NFL and the Chargers are helping him pay for it. NFL Network/Films are based there and pay a pretty penny in rent. Same with the Chargers, 8 fat rent payments a year. I live in Denver, so I Fully understand the pain of rooting for a Kroenke owned team, but the move to LA was a no brainer from a business perspective.

Kansas City BBQ or Philly Cheese steaks? Philly has 14 different Michelin star restaurants, so I wouldn't choose something like a cheesesteak that's served at takeout stands around the city as representative of the food scene, delicious as the best of them can be. We're going with pasta, locally made and fresh frozen spinach and cheese ravioli, where all I have to do is boil some water and re-heat the Sunday Gravy/red sauce, with some salad on the side, and beers to wash it all down. As to the game, this six decade-long Eagles fan is cautiously optimistic. When it's in rhythm, the Birds' offense has been unstoppable this season. But while Jonathan Gannon's defense has dominated teams with average or under quarterbacks, it has struggled when matched up with top tier QBs who can beat the pass rush with short timing routes. I'm afraid that if Mahomes can stay upright that he'll pick apart the defense and put up a lot of points. It's anybody's guess what's going to happen. E-A-G-L-E-S... Eagles!

Do you ever visit Capitol Cigars in downtown Denver? We visited the city(area) once, as my wife went there on a business trip (Lockheed Martin). Was a decent cigar shop. That is a huge area! Was several years ago. Everything was brown landscape wise. Month of March. I remember really getting harassed in the airport. Had my cpap sleep machine in a carry case, TSA was a P.I.A.

Until March 2019, I worked relatively close and would stop in with some regularity. That neighborhood is, interesting, and hasn't improved in the last several years. Early in the day, Capitol can still be great. There is a ~500 seat concert venue next door that draws some very eclectic acts, and their even more eclectic fans, so it can get very weird in their certain times of the night and on weekends. I've only been back once since the pandemic, its still a great spot at the right time. Yeah, Denver is either covered in Snow or still very brown for most of March its not quite spring yet. TSA is a huge PITA. I fly 1 to 3 round trips a month between mostly work and vacations and the inconsistency is crazy. I flew home through O'hare early this morning and had possibly my best security experience since 9/11. It was rapid, new tech scanners, you could leave everything in your bag, keep all your clothes on. Hopefully they can all get to that point.
Ken Gargett Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 eagles winning? good lord, even the glorious commanders were able to give them a whomping. how good could they be? go the chiefs. PLEASE. the only thing which could possibly be worse than an eagles win would be dallas.at least i do not have to suffer that indignity. if the chiefs don't win, i will have blotted the game out within the following 30 minutes, never to speak of it again.
