Popular Post El Presidente Posted March 14, 2022 Author Popular Post Posted March 14, 2022 2 minutes ago, riderpride said: More details please 🙏 Cheers Straightforward really. Turn up to airport. Give my car to Qantas valet parking. Walk to the lounge whistling/humming away "do do do do doooooooo....do do do do doooooooo" Show my qantas card to the lounge gate keeper "morning Brittney" , take a seat, grab a coffee. 20 minutes to boarding, I reach for my phone and open the Qantas app for my ticket. No ticket shows. Go to Lounge reception and explain that my app is not working. No problem Mr. Ayala, we can bring up your booking here..........waiting......waiting......waiting No booking 2 14 1
Popular Post Habana Mike Posted March 14, 2022 Popular Post Posted March 14, 2022 Showed up a day early for a Europe flight. Damned time zones. Said they could put me on the flight this day so I could go now instead of going home and the back in the morning. Unfortunate that the seat would not be business class. OK, wait or go? Definitely better to go, make sure I get there for the meetings and have an extra day to pop around. If it weren't a bitching thread I would say more about how it turned out.... 5

Popular Post Fuzz Posted March 14, 2022 Popular Post Posted March 14, 2022 How about this: wake up in the morning, look at my phone and seeing it is 8am, scrambling like a mad man to do all my morning ablutions, getting dressed and rushing halfway downstairs to my car.... then realising that not only is it Sunday morning, but it is also a long weekend. 1 7
Popular Post Edicion Posted March 14, 2022 Popular Post Posted March 14, 2022 At Beijing airport, waiting for my flight to Hong Kong. Flight KA975, at departure terminal, flight time and gate under control. I approach the gate, show my boarding pass, no delays - great. I take seat. Long queue building. Warning sign of a delay... I talk to the ground staff again. Bad news. 20 min delay. Could've been worse. I take a seat. All other flights are boarding on time, my usual luck. In the end, they let people board. I decide to wait it out. I've got my upgrade to business secure so I don't need to worry about storage in the overhead compartment. When it's essentially empty, I walk up, hand over my boarding pass but the machine bleeps and gives up a red error sign. The staff checks the boarding pass and tell me this is not the right flight. This is CA975 - not KA975. My flight was exactly right opposite of this gate. Right behind me, with the same departure time and destination, only difference a K instead of a C. And of course that flight was on time and the gate was closed. So I had been sitting with my back against the correct gate all that time, waiting for the wrong flight. There was nothing I could do. Took a few hours to sort out the mess and get me a new flight. Here's the bonehead thing: I have done the exact same thing twice. Both happened at the Beijing airport. Mind you, knowing I've done this mistake before, and paranoid to do it again. I somehow managed to do it twice. 1 9
Popular Post cgoodrich Posted March 14, 2022 Popular Post Posted March 14, 2022 Almost 6 yrs ago was returning from Chicago to Santa Barbara from a week of factory training. Landed in LA for my puddle jumper connection and found there would be a 3 hour delay. Went to the bar across from the gate for a few drinks, heard the boarding call, gathered my carry on and boarded. After stowing my stuff I reached for my phone to text my wife, realized I had left my phone at the bar. Rushed forward to the attendant, pleaded my case, and they let me run to the bar without taking my carryon. My phone was still sitting at the table keeping company with the last empty glass. 😂 The other bone head move was last year after we moved to Idaho. She was in California taking care of family, I get up in the morning to head out to a customer site, pull out of the garage and just drive away leaving the door open. Came home in the evening and realized what I had done. 🤦🏼♂️ We picked a really good neighborhood to buy our new house. Not a single item missing! If we still lived in California the garage would have been empty. 5
Drguano Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 A number of years back, I was bringing a school group of thirty students ages 9-13 home from a week at Space Camp In Huntsville AL. I transposed the arrival time in DFW with the departure time in HSV and we missed the flight. Now I was faced with finding 34 seats (30 kids and 4 chaperones) back to Minneapolis. I considered doing the honorable thing (getting totally pissed in the airport bar) but American Airlines actually rebooked us all for the same day! I will never doubt the presence of the Supreme Being again. 2

gormag38 Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 I recently tried to 'win an argument' with my 4 month pregnant wife.....needless to say it accomplished nothing but myself feeling like an insensitive ass. 😐 1

HawkI84 Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 21 hours ago, El Presidente said: How bonehead can you go Has anyone else turned up at the airport only to realise that they never actually booked the flight No, but I did go to the wrong airport once. I was in NYC in 2013, and I told the cab driver to go to the airport I'd flown in to...which was not the airport I was flying out of. I did make my flight at the right airport, though (barely). 1

When someone says “what year did the Bears win the Super Bowl” you can say 1985! 😔 @Chibearsv The yearly ritual at my house, after yet another disastrous season is me saying “it’s ok, we’ll get ‘em next year and my wife replying “No we won’t!!!”😡 3
Cigar Surgeon Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 I'm usually super organized when it comes to flights, flight bookings, and the like. It's likely over compensation because I know I have ADHD so it's critical that I have all the details right. My wife and I (my girlfriend at the time) to Scotland back in 2013, we were doing a big tour. Fly into Glasgow, do a big trip around the country, end in Edinburgh. That's all fine and good until I realize on day 8 of the trip that I booked the flights round trip to Glasgow. Fortunately not the end of the world, just had to get up at the crack of the middle of the night to catch a bus to Glasgow to fly home. The next dumbest thing is the infamous story about how we were headed to Orlando and I forgot the only thing, other than my passport, that I couldn't forget; the Disney tickets. 1 1
