FOH International Blind Tasting 2021 Competition Wrap up

Firstly thank you to all participants. This was the best comp yet! 

Secondly, thank you to Lisa for running the comp. You are a trooper 

 

The 5 cigars ?

1. Bolivar Petit Corona              MUR FEB 13 

2. Montecristo Number 4           PUA JUL 14 

3. Bolivar Belicoso Fino            TUA ENE 21 

4. Partagas Serie D No 4            RUS JUL 15 

5. Diplomatico Number 2           RAT AGO 20 

 

Cigar number 4 was the most controversial and certainly the best from a smoking experience. 

What really impressed me was how many who got it right called it as aged. Well done. It just goes to show how good  and complex an aged Partagas Serie D Number 4 can be.  stock up on great 20/21 boxes and put them away for 5 years ..........you will think they are a Cohiba Robusto and only pay half the price 

 

There were a maximum of  6.5 points in play and Bijan was our 2021 winner with 5. Take a bow mate

Bijan was pushed to the limit by Nevrknow. So bloody close   Well done mate!

For those with credits, they will expire on 22/1/22. Use them when 2424 recommences 5/1/22. I will run a promo for Nudies where you can use them as well. They will have to be applied Manually (our end) so if you qualify, read the instructions on Friday clearly.

I was extremely unsure of 4, and pretty sure about 5. But that went the other way around

I was really sure #5 wasn't a diplo 2.

My ranking for #5 was:

1. VR Unicos

2. Upmann 2

3. PSP2

4. Monte 2

5. Diplo 2

Other than that I thought the aged were either 1, 2, 4 or 2, 4, 5, and I went with 2,4, 5 as I found 1 the BPC to be strong, but that made me think it's either young and strong, or an older stronger bolivar blend.

Nailed that Dip2 to finish above .500 this season.  Have had a lot of these over last year.  This one was very good.  

Moral of this comp, YES I’m loading up on D4. 😉 That honey lemongrass really comes through  at 7yr mark. 🤣

Yeah I really liked the dip 2! Turns out I have a box of the same code I've only had 2 from so far. Time to revisit that box!

That was unrelated pre-competition stuff. I'm pretty sure I didn't discuss any details of competition cigars before final guesses were submitted (beyond reviews on the forum).

Valid for 30 days from reveal, or 22/1/22.
