B44 Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 You have got to be kidding me! LOL I didn’t realize Boli’s came with wrappers that light and rosy 2

Fuzz Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 It was pretty obvious as soon as I smoked it yesterday at the Sydney FOH gathering... I didn't like it at all. It was the floral notes and slight earthy, vegetal taste that told me it had to be a Bolivar. Note: I am not in the comp, just smoking the blinds off the side with the rest of you. 1
Bijan Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 I have bolivars that are the lightest CCs I have with super thin wrappers, and I have Bolivars that are pretty dark. But these things change over time, and some shades are more common than others I guess.
saltbox Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Fascinating. 14 distinct guesses. The correct answer (Boli PC) was tied with the most common wrong answer (Monte 4) with 11. RGPC was a close runner up with 9 votes. Of people who submitted an answer, 24% got it right (11/45). 2 1

Welp - I had the same reaction ( I hated several notes from this cigar), but that drove me to pick the one PC I didnt like, that I associated with those notes, Monte 4. Sour cocoa-y assness, for lack of a better description. So much for that haha! 1
RDB Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Really fun! Cool seeing everyone’s guess, and congrats to those who got it.
Meklown Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Well played to those who got it right! For me, it was chocolatey and lacked the body and the tanginess that I usually get in BPCs. 1
El Presidente Posted November 16, 2021 Author Posted November 16, 2021 We will update the spreadsheet tomorrow as a few members sent their results to an old email address for Lisa. They have contacted Lisa ([email protected]) and resent the original timestamped email. All good. 3 1
Zaxeiler Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Thanks for putting this on. It’s a blast to smoke these and see the results with the group. 1
DaBoot Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Haha , to me tasted nothing like a BPC, and it’s my go to petite corona. 1
HuffnPuffff Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Fantastic! This has confirmed my worst fears about myself!HeheSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
Jeffcc86 Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Thanks Rob/Lisa! Having a lot of fun with this so far. The BPC was a fantastic smoke. I purchased a box from FOH several months ago and they’ve been resting since. Interested to see if this one was aged or not. 🤔 1
griller Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Well, I feel like an idiot. So I'm inspecting cigar #1 and I pull out a petite corona from my humidor to do a side-by-side comparison. My competition cigar came with a defined box shape, but didn't look to have a 42 ring gauge, especially when comparing to the cigar I pulled from my humidor... a Bolivar Petite Corona! So, I literally compared #1 to the SAME CIGAR from my inventory and STILL missed the guess!!! The lack of distinct earthiness, and the slight honey in the middle third, definitely threw me off. Oh well, still a lot of fun!
RichG Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 I lack experience with aged BPCs, and I immediately discounted it in terms of considering current production profile, and its lack of nicotine kick. This cigar came across to me as an Upmann if the shortbread was completely missing. Fun stuff, thanks for hosting this contest!
CptGoodTimes Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Alright alright alright! Had this one pegged on aroma alone. From the initial light, quintessential Bolivar. Excited for round dos. Thanks FOH CptGoodTimes 2
Popular Post dominattorney Posted November 16, 2021 Popular Post Posted November 16, 2021 Good times. It wasn't my fault that I screwed up. I'm just an idiot. I blame my parents. 1 8
slowsmoke Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 Wow, well I was way off. I love BPC, but I never would have picked it for this cigar. @El Presidente Do we know how old it was? I have some 2014 BPC that are still a ton stronger than this one was. I suppose if this cigar was 10 years old, that might make me feel a little better lol.

ChangBang Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 If aged cigars aren't going to be released till the end - can we identify all of our aged cigar guesses when we submit #5 or is that just too confusing

Chas.Alpha Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 Did the new spreadsheet reference my pick? I was one of the (idiots) that sent it to the wrong email address... 2
