ElJavi76 Posted June 25, 2021 Posted June 25, 2021 Hey @Lrabold89 they even have the sock puppet smoking grip you love so much. I think it's a nice cigar. I also think there's early hype and the price reflects it. I'm not sure it warrants over $11 a stick, but that's just my 0.02 cents. 1 2

Rob and 24:24 have had the best Rio Seco prices. Some other vendors are absolutely crazy. Hope that didn't break any rules... 3
Edicion Posted June 25, 2021 Posted June 25, 2021 I rate the Connie 2 as a fairly good morning cigar. First third some Upmann flavors, second third pretty much nothing, last third - need to be put down for a while before anything interesting happens, or never will. If I'm looking for that Upmann flavor, I'll be going to Magnum 46, Royal Robusto or one of the Connie A or Bs for that fix. 2

Not really apples to apples...Rio Seco is Hoyo's big azz offering (like a Connie B, minus the 2nd band), they'll likely keep the premium pricing. Connie A has been pretty stable IMO (you can routinely scope them out in the 330 range) I do think Connie 2s will settle quite a bit more, but who knows-

Though I feel like I need to revisit some of them again and check out the 2 and B too. The SW is a special case. Refined but still hits hard. No other cigar quite like it with that combination of class and power. As far as the A, I find it fluctuates too much. It goes a little too light at times. First few years' production seemed to be a little richer in general. It's why I pretty much stick to the 1 which is probably my most reliable and trusted cigar along with El Principe.
inter4alia Posted June 25, 2021 Posted June 25, 2021 Well now I really feel like an idiot for grabbing a box of the Connie 2 to test out. Sounds like maybe I should just plan to use them for kindling or something. 1

mprach024 Posted June 26, 2021 Posted June 26, 2021 Haven’t had these yet, but most likely will in near future. I have very low expectations for it being worth the money but I’m sure they’ll be fine cigars. Still, worth a try. If I’m disappointed I’ll trade them or something.

Popular Post NSXCIGAR Posted July 17, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 17, 2021 So, they've arrived and I've had two so far: First, I love this vitola! Great feel in the hand and perfectly balanced. Feels much closer to a 50 than a 52. I certainly did not expect to be so impressed with the vitola. The two cigars I had were virtually identical in every way. Tightly packed. Very firm draw. One ream with the Perfecdraw is enough. So the Connie 2 is a very interesting cigar. And not in a good way. To sum up, there is no doubt it is in the Connie line. It has flavor. It is not bland. It tastes like a less sweet, more mellow Connie 1. Unfortunately, it doesn't have the class of the A. The only flavor I could suss out was a very light citrus lilting in and out. No complexity. The construction was excellent and the burn slow but very solid. No issues there. So the Connie 2 might be the best cigar I don't like. 90 points? Maybe 92? I don't know. I've never had a more flavorful cigar that was less complex. I think they missed on the blend. It's like they just stuffed this full of Connie A seco with no vision. It is certainly smoother than the 1, but it loses character in the process. I would call this cigar "generic Connie". I think @Ken Gargett mentioned in the video review that it's a cigar that doesn't capture your attention and allows you to talk or work or golf while smoking it. I would agree for the most part. 4 3

Thought I was beginning to be super OCD. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
NSXCIGAR Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 I hadn't had any Connie 1 since I've been smoking through these 2s until tonight. Wanted to wait to come back to them for an accurate contrast. The verdict is in--I very much prefer the 1 to the 2. The 1 has that light sweetness and toasted tobacco that's missing from the 2 and honestly, the A as well. My opinion is that the 1 is still my favorite Connie of all in terms of overall enjoyment. Value, no question of course. 3
