Your Top 5 Titles to binge your way through these times...

Recommended Posts

For me, I've dug out some faves from the Blu-ray collection and Streaming...

1. The Commitments (Irish, soul music, great laugh, Imelda Quirke ;)) - top of the list to revive your flagging spirits.

2. Band Of Brothers (Hands down the best war epic ever made, heart-breaking, uplifting, and everything in between.)

3. Lord Of The Rings (As above, just epic entertainment running the full gamut.)

4. This Is The End (Funny as, but probably best used as a guide for what not to do in times of social-distancing.)

5. Family Guy (well, just because.)

What are you watching? Let's get a bit of a list going.

1. Top Gear / The Grand Tour

2. Godfather The Epic (The Godfather 1902–1959: The Complete Epic is a reduced, 386 minute version of The Godfather Saga (434 minutes) that was released to video in 1981.[5][6] Unlike the Saga, which presented in four segments (each with opening and closing credits), the Epic is presented as a single segment. Lucia Bozzola wrote of this version, "With the freedom of home video, The Complete Epic reinstated the violence that had been edited for television; free of commercial breaks, the narrative drive of Part I was mostly restored, but the impact of Part II was still muted by the separation of Vito's rise from Michael's descent."[7] In January 2016, HBO aired the epic in its uncut and uncensored format; later making it available on its streaming platforms.[8] The HBO showing contained most of the known deleted scenes, thereby lengthening the runtime of the Epic from its video release. This HBO version carries the title Mario Puzo's The Godfather: The Complete Epic 1901-1959 which has a runtime of 423 minutes.)

  1. The James Bond collection, from the beginning with "Dr. No",  right up until the very last film they made "The World Is Not Enough"
  2. Z Nation (who doesn't like a funny zombie series?)
  3. The Kingdom (Korean series, season 2 just got released)
  4. Mystery Science Theatre 3000
  5. GLOW

If not watching TV, I'd be playing the huge backlog of Xbox games I have.

We've spent almost two months working from home here in HK, so in no particular order -

Better call Saul (I finished breaking bad a couple years back)

Narcos Mexico (also previously finished original Narcos)

Money heist

Mindhunter

Sex education

The last kingdom

Okay that was 6... Let's finish off with one more for mindless entertainment - terrace House (there are like 4-5 seasons of this)

Mostly things I've already seen so that I don't have to pay much attention while I do other things...

1. The Office (US mostly, but also UK)

2. Arrested Development

3. Django Unchained/Inglorious Basterds/Pulp Fiction/Reservoir Dogs (really anything Tarantino)

4. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

5. Grand Budapest Hotel (really anything Wes Anderson, especially to enjoy the storytelling and cinematography)

Many, many more that I'm sure that I've missed, but this will do me well to start...

I’m going to try and list a few that haven’t been mentioned already. For bingeing, I would want more than 1 season or a movie.  Soooo, here are some quality multi season series in no particular order.

1) Bosch

2) Mindhunter

3) The Expanse

4) Ozark

5) Bloodline
