I don’t normally post my purchases but, aside from the Nudies bundles I ordered, the Lanceros will probably be the last cigars I receive for a while. The other two are highlights from my last few orde

Fonseca N°1.

A couple gifts from last night's herf.

You might not be familiar with the odd looking beast on the right (I had never heard of it before yesterday), it's a Spanish puro from the brand Canalenos called Pata de Caliqueno. The HPC smells very good!

Isn't it Pata de elefante? I used to smoke some Pata de Elefantes and Caliqueños mid day with a coffee when visiting family in Spain many years ago. The tobacco was locally grown and you would go to the local bar and buy them. If you bought a whole pack they would just be rolled up in yesterday's newspaper. I remember them being really strong.

These come from the same family, yes! I don't have a lot of information about those but the name of the man in charge, Ximo, or so I was told.

They're labelled Pata de Caliquenos (sorry I can't find the tilde 😅) but they could really well be the same cigar we're talking about. I'll get back to you when I smoke it👍

I love this vitola on paper, haven’t had the pleasure of trying one yet though. Hard to pull the trigger on a full box given the price.

EML Nov 2014 Diplomaticos Bushidos...

Are you just revisiting old inventory Or did you win the lottery recently? You’re on a crazy roll based on the last few pages of this thread. Very nice score in any case.

Some well aged Edmundos for the stash, gonna let them settle in for a month or two at my preferred RH before converting one to ashes.

Was it you who put the cushions on the bottom of the box? Or the previous owner?? I've never seen this before :rotfl:

In my head it gives space between boxes for air flow, not sure if it actually helps or not but it makes me feel better.

I think your idea is sound....I like it!

So these ended up Being a weird one. I got them with 4 other boxes from someone I’ve purchased from in the past so I didn’t look at them as closely as I would if they’d been from a new source. The verification code came back as Edmundo’s, they smelled like Cubans and the caps looked right so I suspect they may be farm rolls someone that worked in the factory put together. However the bands on the cigars were discontinued in 2012 and the box was dated 2013. The factory code doesn’t show up in any sources I can find and there’s a spelling error on the box itself. All worked out, he was good about it and happy enough to refund my money with no trouble. Happy it all worked out this time. Sure is a lesson in buying the seller though.

I think in Cuba it usually goes like this that they will use old bands even if they are officially discontinued. I‘ve had that happen on boxes that were definitely real like LGC M4, where they used bands that were discontinued years ago.

The factory code might be the bigger issue here, but also I'm no expert in identifying fakes.
