Every week we're going to have a poll about the definition of a forgotten or obscure word. Pick the definition you believe to be the correct one. All voters (correct or not) go into the draw for an El Pres Sampler!!  :party: (Drawn Tuesday morning, Brisbane time)

@Fuzz is now co-piloting this with me, and he's delivered a great word and some superb decoy definitions this week - Thanks Fuzz! (Yes, this is my disclaimer to avoid any fallout from @Ken Gargett. Ken, please direct all rebukes to Fuzz :hole: ).

NO GOOGLING OR DICTIONARY USE! We're using the honour system. It's just a bit of fun. If you know, you know. If you don't, have a stab in the dark or an educated guess (if you prefer that term). ;)

You may elaborate about your choice in the topic thread below if you wish but no posting of any official definitions, etc., that will give away the game for others. 

Now you know the drill, vote away! :thumbsup: Good luck and may this comp prove to be a fun palaestra that turns us all into better word-grubbers, if you know what I mean...

Wow. Got it! Finally a word I actually know!
That's two now for me ... but the first one was a lucky guess.

I would like to explain how I know, but saying almost anything would give it away.

Hmmm, the poll functionality does not appear to show up in Tapatalk. I'm not sure if this is a recent thing or not. Let me look into it. To get involved in the interim, suggest using the mobile version of the site or laptop/desktop version. The poll functionality shows at the top of the posts.

I was hopeful it was a Ken infatuation and not to be confused with kenopedia, the collaborative encyclopaedia dedicated to Ken. I will go and find out now what it means!

The polls have never worked in Tapatalk. I always go to a browser to do those but it would be nice if it worked with Tapatalk.

#4 was the correct answer: The eerie, forlorn atmosphere of a place that was once full of people, but is now abandoned and quiet. Only 25% of the vote got it right. A nice win for the decoys! ;)
