havanaclub Posted March 25, 2019 Posted March 25, 2019 Now is that for retail off the island? Or is an increase across the board? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

aphexafx Posted March 25, 2019 Posted March 25, 2019 That's +$10 for a $250 box of cigars. And in return, they've promised an equivalent decrease in tent poles and wind tunnels, right? Right? Aw, shucks. 1

Notsocleaver Posted March 25, 2019 Posted March 25, 2019 Man, remember two years back when people here were talking about QdO coronas like they were these hidden gems? and they were scarcely more than a box of petit coronas? 1
nKostyan Posted March 25, 2019 Posted March 25, 2019 These figures should be taken into account when calculating the efficiency of investing in cigars. Cohiba out of competition
Ritch Posted March 25, 2019 Posted March 25, 2019 I find it's best to not invest in items that suffer from spontaneous combustion. 3 1
anacostiakat Posted March 25, 2019 Posted March 25, 2019 It could always be worse. I guess their sales are strong enough on the Cohiba's etc. to support such a hike.
Capt. Corona Posted March 25, 2019 Posted March 25, 2019 And such is life...........hot, well proportioned red heads...fine liquor... good cigars and cashews are all going to increase at the bottom line. ? ? 2
taylorgov2 Posted March 25, 2019 Posted March 25, 2019 Well that settles it, I'm definitely never trying a Behike. Especially if this price hike trend continues which I'm sure is likely the case.
MountainMilG Posted March 25, 2019 Posted March 25, 2019 Oh darn, my party shorts remain the same ? 4

Kaptain Karl Posted March 25, 2019 Posted March 25, 2019 So will this be effective immediately on all stock on hand or effective on new shipments after April 1st?

When was the last time Habanos SA raised prices across the board on regular production sticks and what were the percentages then? If it’s been 5-10 years then those numbers aren't bad; if its been a couple of years than those hikes are larcenous.
LLC Posted March 25, 2019 Posted March 25, 2019 Maybe that will motivate them to actually make some Behikes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They raise prices (to varying degrees) April each year. 1
LLC Posted March 25, 2019 Posted March 25, 2019 Haven’t cigar prices in Cuba remained the same for the past several years? Yes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
El Presidente Posted March 25, 2019 Author Posted March 25, 2019 14 minutes ago, mtapia3 said: Haven’t cigar prices in Cuba remained the same for the past several years? Two different markets. HSA to global distributors is an almost annual rise. There was a 4 year break after 2007/8 Cuba prices had a significant rise 2-3 years back. It was well covered. My understanding is that the QD price increase and cohiba increases will follow through. I am not sure if that will be to the same extent. Travellers to havana in May can let us know 1 1
Philc2001 Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 The way this is going, it is is actually cheaper to sail to the island once a year and stock up. The savings in cigars covers the cost of the trip. 1
LandCruiser Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 Simple supply and demand - Cubans are already significantly more expensive on a whole, than any other cigars on the market. And until the sales slow and HSA sees that prices are getting too high, this will continue. For me, money is not much an issue when determining what to smoke - and I assume its much the same for many of you. However, I still wont pay needlessly high prices for a product that is marginally better, at best. Point being - I will be picking and choosing which Cubans I buy. The days of having a humidor stocked to the gills with Cubans simply because seems, well, a bit pointless. There are many non-cuban marcas out there that are quite frankly, just as good as their cuban counterparts. Often times at about 1/3rd of the price. 2
