If you were given an extra 4-6  hours a week   and  that time could only be spent on you

What hobby/interest/project/study/program  would you take up?  One that you have always wanted to do or have been thinking about for a while

And my wife or employer couldn’t impose upon me during that time....?

Correct. Your time only.

I’d buy a metal lathe and really learn how to use it.  Tapers.  Threading. Everything....  I’ve made simple stuff and made some important (but simple) parts for the machine shop, but I need time and tutelage to learn some of the more complex processes.

6 straight hours or something like 1h/day?

1h/day = sleep

6h/week = sleep for 1 hour and smoke and drink the other 5. If I had to focus in one thing it would be woodwork. Try to play with wood and build some humidors.

Would probably get back to cooking. There was a time a number of years ago that I had time and enjoyed cooking an learning about cooking. Now I’ll do the grilling but that’s about it. The other thing would be go for long walks. Used to do a ton of that and really enjoyed it but now when I do get extra time I just want to relax. When I’m in vacation my wife and I walk a ton. Last week we spent some time in Portland and walked over 52,000 steps (about 30km or 18.6 miles) on very hilly terrain. Loved it.

Join a gym or CrossFit and work on muscles. I love using my exercise machines at home, but it’s cardio only.

I would fly fish half a day each week. There are so many great locales all around me. Madness that I can' do it yet.

Pure relaxation while engaging the brain, enjoying the outdoors and of course, a cigar.

Fishing the River Exe in Somerset. It's a three hour drive from home so getting me there and back without penalty would do just fine.

I don’t want any new hobbies. I just need time for the hobbies I already have abandoned for wife, kids, work, and recovering from surgeries.... car building, fishing, fly tying, golf, cycling, rod building, kayaking

Fly tying vice would get back on the table - God I miss those days

I am too much of a gumby to make my own flies......but I would love the chance to cover my fingers with glue and cuts.
