Flawless construction as you would expect, but taste-wise a bit of a departure from the classic Davidoff profile. It's quite dark and strong - lots of leather, earth, coffee and a touch of dark coco with a creamy mouthfeel. I liked it. Not a daily smoke, but at the price point a nice 'change of pace' cigar. 3

Popular Post Fireball Posted May 13 Popular Post Posted May 13 Found a box of AF Eye of the Sharks and grabbed some Trinity Robustos now that they are back, but the real beauties are the Dalias. 10
Dadof3 Posted May 13 Posted May 13 I have always wanted to try Paul Garmairian cigars and never had a chance. Finally have a local retailer and picked up a small variety of their stuff. After trying a few they are pretty good. 4

My favorite so far was actually the Lonsdale in the basic gourmet line. Somewhat subtle, but with a fresh palate had some nice flavors and aroma.

David8406 Posted May 16 Posted May 16 I’ve picked up a 10-count box of Dalias and a bundle of Trinity Robustos. The Dalias are too pretty to smoke. I’ll just look at those for a while longer. The Trinitys however, I don’t expect them to last very long. Such a great retro and aroma with these. 3

Khimerah Posted May 18 Posted May 18 Just picked up some El Septimo to try, I hadn’t heard on the brand before but a new shop I visited had some. They have a mixed reputation similar to Ghurka in some ways with people finding them overpriced. The El Septimo SA Michelangelo, Culinary Arts Toscano, and, Culinary Arts Nigori are what I picked up. The Toscano has some very good reviews which has me excited as it seems to be my type of NC. 1

Popular Post Khimerah Posted May 25 Popular Post Posted May 25 I went to a shop I haven’t been to before and saw a brand I’ve never seen before, El Septimo. Saw some interesting sticks decided to purchase a few to sample. I then saw there’s a lot of mixed reviews on the brand with many not liking them at all. I bought the Culinary Arts Toscano and gave it a try, reviews seem pretty good and it really delivered. IMO it’s better than a Davidoff signature and Grand Cru with a similar profile yet much more affordable for a toro. Seriously can’t recommend it enough if you like Davidoff. 6

Never smoked these with any age so it’ll be an interesting experiment. I would think Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over top of Nicaraguan / Honduran leaf should age well.
