Anyone actually pay attention to this? Not spraying on my body... Rather, I spray on my wrists and wipe on my neck. This way, I can notice the scent whilst drawing on the cigar.

I have taken to pairing fruitier (sport) scents with mild body, soapy Cubans (Juan Lopez Petit Corona, Hoyo du Maire) and milder Non-Cubans (specifically anything with a colorado or lighter wrapper shade).

Musky, eye-watering scents like Calvin Klein Obsession that I would never touch with a ten-foot pole has resurfaced in my use ever since I discovered that it actually complements those annoyingly strong NCs and stronger Cubans - specifically the last Thomas Hind Corona I had a while back. Interested in trying a Partagas D4 with a more cinnamon-orientated scent.

.... hehehehe..... toilette water....

Ok that's it!

It's time for your intervention bro mob.gif

Hey! I think it's a perfectly valid question. Especially to those who don scents and smoke cigars without even noticing any subtle changes.

The only reason I bring up this thread is that I have personally noticed it in myself when I started bringing the cigar up to my mouth and was hit with a scent of fragrance prior to drawing the cigar.

Wow, deliberately aging cigars with specific mold cultures and pairing cigars with your aftershave - you're surely taking things to the next level :-)

Not sure if I'll follow your lead, but those topics is best read of the year so far

I only worry about colognes after a cigar...especially if I am in a social situation around people. I've never noticed these things whilst smoking.

What ever floats your boat. I can't do any perfumed smells near my cigars, strong hand washes included.

i mean this in the nicest possible way.

when you say location - 'the ebony tower', you really mean rubber room?

i have every expectation that when you look back on this post in the years to come, there might be some cringing and regret.

You really shouldn't apply cologne to your wrists then rub it on your neck. The friction changes the way the scent interacts with your skin and makes it wear off faster.

In the nicest possible way Butters -

Have you totally lost the plot???

Because, tbh, I'm half expecting your next post to be specific combinations of laundry detergent and softener (and temperature washed at) paired with appropriate sticks...

I don't do it with cologne, but I do with my scented candles. I like to get them heated up just so before pouring the wax. I always try to make sure to shave my chest first, as the smell of singed nipple hair can really foul things up.

I think sandalwood goes well with most cigars.

That's a joke right? lol Sorry lol but just had to say this is weird lol...strictly imo, I for one hate any scents that would compete with the aroma of my cigar around me. if a brother or sister happens to be wearing a boat load of hugo boss or some perfume, (or brut LOL) beside me while I smoke, i'm moving far from the source. I would say food is the only thing that I can see giving a smell that has a better chance of pairing well with cigar aroma, but sure as heck not my own cologne. lol...Dang brothers (Fuzz) didn't anyone ever tell you the real reason why gentlemen spray on the wrist and then rub it on their neck?? Its so when you put your arm around your partner, they get a whiff of whatever it is you're wearing, also when you hug, their face generally ends up in the neck region getting a good whiff with a fainter strength than if you were to spritz your whole neck area and blast your significant other's senses with too much of a good thing.

You do if you're going out with a perfume/cologne rep.

The way she explained it, the best way to get the most out of your cologne is to apply (a light spray several inches away or dab around chest/neck/behind ears) after a shower, and do not mix the scent with others like deodorant or scent heavy soaps. Light, citrus based scents are better for daytime or summer, whilst stronger scents are better for evening and winter.

I enjoy the smell of my farts (especially following a high protein/fat meal) after retrohaling my cigar. pig.gif

I'm surprised we've lasted 22 responses before getting a fart reference...

I always wondered why the big reviewing blogs never included a section for what cologne the reviewer is wearing. Has anyone else ever paired a cigar with clothing colour?
