Knilas Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Upmann Mag 46, then Punch Punch. They've been my sentimental favorites ever since.
leftimatic Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Brought home from Cuba a box of RyJ no 3 tubos and a box of RyJ Regalias de londres. Oh yah and a couple something or others at the airport to make an even 50. I think some Monte open Juniors. Oh yah and a 5 pack of Guantanameras for a guy at work. That was around 3 yrs ago. If only I had the slightest idea what I was looking for and knew what those boxes would do.
zrotfus Posted February 20, 2015 Author Posted February 20, 2015 2011 Cohiba lanceros Hell of a way to start! How are they smoking now?
Habana Mike Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 First box of Habanos was a cab of '98 Bolivar Petit Coronas. They were about a year old at the time.
Nedule Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Cohiba Sig II & Rome short chruchill. Sig II were great but the short churchill's laid me out on my ass a few times. Upmann HC are great, you shouldn't be disappointed. 1
JohnS Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 My first purchase was this; post-15810-0-84489100-1360728691.jpg Wow Mus....I wake up first thing on Saturday to my morning coffee prior to doing some errands and I promise you mate that this image above really blew me away! Absolutely love it...my eyes were wide open (yeah I was still slightly asleep) and suddenly I was awake in wonder! My first box was only recently....a Cohiba Piramides Extra 10 box....smells gorgeous. I've been getting samplers to get into a variety of cigars as I've only taken to cigars as a hobby for less than a year. But, like many of us, I've come a long way in a short time thanks to many of you!
bigfunkyg Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 First trip to Cuba in 2003. Came home with four boxes: Coro Monte 2 HDM Double Coronas Punch Double Coronas I still have two of the HDM DC's. Terrible construction, lucky if you can actually smoke the whole things without it falling apart. The CoRo's were magical. The following year I was on vacation in the DR. Bought two boxes of fake Coro's and Monte 2's. Still have some of those for some stupid reason.
joeskow Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 10 count Monte 4 in 2009 Not sure of box code. Blind buy and I think only 3 or so were not plugged
Cubanlightrumandcigars Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Ufff...long time ago, Partagás 8.9.8 in 1991. 1
Stoyan Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 My first box purchase was:Monte Grand Edmundo EL 2010;Party P2;Bolivar Royal Corona.
ErikB Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Birthday present in 1995 - a box of Pl Panetelas
Tino Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 First was a box of Sancho Panza Belicosos, split with a friend
sactochris Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 My first box of cigars were Bolivar Corona Gigantes that I bought in 1998 for $550.
zrotfus Posted February 20, 2015 Author Posted February 20, 2015 Cohiba Sig II & Rome short chruchill. Sig II were great but the short churchill's laid me out on my ass a few times. Upmann HC are great, you shouldn't be disappointed. Short Churchill 10 count was box #2! Along with 12 count Trini Reyes. Was disheartened to see them both mentioned as recently being mostly sub-par quality in Rob's newest description of his grading system. Bought them before I found this place and just hoping they're decent.
