Babaloo Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 NC- Gurkha HMR CC- Hard to say because I'm a novice Monty 2
CaptainQuintero Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 RA allones extra, amazing band on a flavoured Gurkha cigar :s Reg production - fundadores, decent but it's history outweighs the actual smoking enjoyment for me
cigcars Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 I've smoked it NUMEROUS times to give it every chance for my taste buds to find approval...but for my money, the Fuente Fuente Opus X's. Then practically all the Davidoffs with possible exception of the Gran Cru's and Nicaraguan selections. BEAUTIFULLY constructed, they just don't have any flavor. Then the Cuban Trinidads. I know they are fav's of y'all's but at every sampling they just didn't have much going for them to me. Just my humble 2 cents.
ogus Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 padron 1926? really the best nc and for $18, no ty
nikesupremedunk Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Don't smoke enough NC's to know what's overrated or not... For CC's...I'm going to say most sticks that costs ~$50 a stick. I've been disappointed by every BHK and 1966 so far, maybe they'll be great down the road but I've had sticks that cost 1/2 that taste twice as good.
Charltonc Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Monte 2 because it is so damn inconsistent, but so good when on. Most LEs because they taste the same to me imho.
Colinb913 Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Gonna have to vote for Davidoff (NC) and Cohiba Behikes (CC), if I pay $50 for a stick, it better be a hell of a lot better than the last BHK I had..
melies Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Most of the Davidoff's fall in this category I'm with Cigcars, the only ones I have liked have been the "Puro D'oro" and not all models. On the Cuban front, well not counting inconsistencies... I would say the PL Robusto ER. I really want to love them, but each and everyone I have ever had, has been dull as a... well... dull as a davidoff
Habana Mike Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Fundadores, PSD4, Mag 46, Siglo VI, RASS, Monte 520, Monte GR, Cohiba Lancero, RA Extra, I am sure I am missing some, but thats my list so far...lol Not saying they are bad cigars, just not to my liking as much as others who rave about them... So, what do you like?
ajgagnon Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Yeah, I thought you loved the RASS. For me the overrated cigar collection includes the H Upmann #2 (maybe i got a bad batch), most SCDLH, some CoRo (but not all), Party Shorts (unless they have 2 years plus), and almost all NCs. Sometimes the Reyes seem overrated too but that's probably related to style as well a quality. If there's a morning cigar, that seems to be it.
baragh Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 I haven't had many Trinidad's but from the few I've had so far they don't seem to be worth the price point
davidsan Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Behike are over rated IMO , non cuban I'd say anything Alec Bradley
ramon_cojones Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 shlomo fundador, sig vi, bbf, encantos what else? hmm...
Surucipe Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 All the BHK 52's I've had so far have been underwhelming, they look great, smell great but what's lacking is flavor. I really hope that with a couple of extra years of sleep they will develop some more flavor.
CdnLimitada Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Wow. Love those Behikes. All sizes. Slightly expensive for what they are perhaps but not disappointing IMO. I think the RyJ Churchill is overrated. At least the newer ones have been. Same with the BBF. The Cohiba Secratos was God awful I thought. NC- too many to list but mainly Fuente Anejos, most tats.
Hash Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Monte#2 , and to some extent Behike 56 for its size it lacks flavour.
Smallclub Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 All the cigars I can't afford are overrated
laficion Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 NC- Gurkha HMR Gurkha ? Are you kidding ? TOO rated ,That is an auwful cigar ,Too much packageing with NO taste as to the cigars, As for Cubans, the Behikes are a bit tooooooo rated .
jangoman88 Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Fundadores, PSD4, Mag 46, Siglo VI, RASS, Monte 520, Monte GR, Cohiba Lancero, RA Extra, I am sure I am missing some, but thats my list so far...lol Not saying they are bad cigars, just not to my liking as much as others who rave about them... Shlomo, what are some of your fav's?
jangoman88 Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Ive had the Trini Reyes from 05 and was great, and I purchased a box and had one with about a month in my Humi and was plugged and ok in tastes. for NC for me I've had a few Padron's and they were all bland/lacking for my tastes, CC I havent had that many to say much but I purchased a box of Monte 4's and a few i've had were great and others werent any where near the others.
Ken Gargett Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Most if not all Cohiba's wow?? i'd concede not all are great but harsh. some brilliant cohibas over the years. can i ask, have you smoked a lot of cohibas or is it a small sample base? and i'd suggest, don't give up.
bigharpoon Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 For NC I'd say most Tatuaje and Alec Bradley. I hate the chasing LE game and Cigar of the year??? What a joke. For CC I'd say PLPC and BBF. For some reason they just don't tickle my fancy. I've tried many and I have a few left before I totally give up on them but as of now they are on my chopping block.
Hiroshiro Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 RyJ Churchill ... perhaps i've yet to get a good one but for some reason all bad ...
IcedCanuck Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 That is a real easy one: Cohiba Piramides Extra. Maybe they need A LOT of time to get good for my tastes but the three I have smoked have all been crap and IMHO not worth anywhere near the amount of money they cost.
