  1. BRC last night. Mornings have been very wet in the dunes, until the sun dries everything out, so I have been having my morning cigars in town.

  8. I’m gonna go against the consensus here. Buy all and everything that you possibly can at your income level. Go nuts. Here’s the thing. We are living in times where prices are going up, there are avenues to sell stuff (I’m not talk flipping here, I’m just talking a second hand market exists i.e. Bond Roberts etc, etc.) and stock levels are low. So go nuts. Buy 5 boxes of all of the above. You will eventually get around to smoking stuff and either go “I’m so glad I listened to that Mus guy and I have 5 boxes of these to enjoy”, or you’ll say "nah that’s not for me". At that point sell 'em. You will at least break even what you paid. Make friends in your local area, sell it to them at your cost price. Whatever. I say buy as much today as you possibly can with your available disposable income.

  9. QdO Baalbeck has been extremely frustrating…a few amazing sticks from the can but also lots of duds. I’ve put it out of its misery and lit up 54 and it was amazing.

  11. Little flavour-bomb. Espresso, cereals, peanut butter, hints of chervil and tarragon. Quite strong.

  13. If I'm right it's Einstein who defined true madness as the fact of repeating the same action over and over hoping for a different result. Well, I've questioned my own sanity before so why not light another P2 today (for those who haven't seen my previous post, I've smoked one yesterday and it had been an underwhelming experience to say the least😩)... This one's been on my singles tray for 3 years at least. It smells good, it looks good but it was already the case with yesterday's P2. 15.3g, Oh boy, I certainly hope for a different outcome but this one feels tightly packed too 😅 But this time the draw is perfect, Cuban perfect, I'm relieved 🥳 Long story short, it was excellent ! Maybe a bit too mild for me and even if I find the good P2s I've had like this one lack that Partagas DNA one finds in Lusis, 898, Shorts and even Super Partagas, it was great, the kind of greatness I still haven't found outside Cuba. Those two P2s back to back have been on each end of the enjoyment spectrum, it has happened to me before and it will happen again for sure. But each time it happens it makes me wonder... What's the point of saying "I like this cigar" or "I like this marca" considering the lack of consistency... "I like this particular box", now that makes (a bit) more sense. How influenced am I by the band and my prior smokes, this question I can't answer but man, what a wonderful passion we share 😍😍😍 PS: Cuba should get rid of the bands and the different marcas (sorry guys, good cigars tend to awake the daydreamer in me 😅)

  14. A rare two cigar night. JL1 - BRT July 2023 One of the best JL1s I’ve had out of a 6-pack purchased back in May. All Cuban twang. Smooth retro hale. Not too many transitions but great smoke output and smooth taste. A little zest on the 3/3. HDMEpi1 - ORB JULY 2023 I love what some downtime in the humi can do to a cigar. Wasn't feeling these a few months ago but this stick told me to hold my horses. 1/3 like A&W cream soda. Creamy and smooth throughout with a little cedar popping up. A little spicy at the end.

  16. VR Famosos RAG SEP19 A pretty nicely filled box, with 9.6g at the bottom and 13.3g at the top. Most are between 10.7g and 12.0g. My preference is always for well filled cigars, I don’t have a Tinker Bell draw🧚‍♀️ As long as there aren’t 2 or 3 ridiculously under filled sticks in a box I’m happy.

  19. Just posting this here for now to come back. Got this monstrosity waiting to be smoked with the boys in a few weeks. Will come back with pics. That’s a 109 size next to it for scale. I don’t know what the cigar is. You have any idea how absolutely stupid it is to name a cigar “toxic”. Try googling “toxic cigar”. The branding department need to be shot.

  25. Cold draw and foot have notes of sweet wheat cereal. 1/3 light cedar, cream and baking spices. Very light spice and citrus note on the retro. Draw is on the snug side but no issues getting enough smoke. Burn is razor sharp. 2/3 notes have not changed much, baking spice notes have dialed back a bit and a toasted bread note is mixing in. Draw continues to be snug and burn line fairly straight. Used the perfecdraw to push around a couple packed areas and it helped the draw immensely. 3/3 much better draw and smoke output. The cedar and spice notes move to the front on some puffs, cream and toast on others. Strength starts to ramp up a bit. Wrapper split after removing the band but I'm able to smoke thru it. Leather notes mix in at the end. Overall an excellent smoke. Total smoke time 1:40.

  32. Berry sweetness on the cold draw. Wheat cereal on the foot. 1/3 cedar and cream with a mixture of baking spices. There is a faint pepper note present on the retro. The draw is slightly on the snug side, burn line fairly even all around. The smoke is creamy and leaves an oily feel in the mouth. The stick becomes more and more mild as it progresses. There is more of a bready note developing pushing the cedar to the background. 2/3 the baking spice notes are mostly present on the retro. The ash is on the flakey side but holds on well. The aroma is intoxicating, like pumpkin spice without the pumpkin if that makes sense. Many of the flavor notes are subtle. I don't think I would ever pair this with a spirit, even a mild one. I'm pairing with coffee with cream and while it is perfectly fine, I think herbal tea or just seltzer would be much better. This will definitely start making its way into my weekend morning rotation. 3/3 similar flavor notes continue. Buttered bread with light cinnamon and cedar hanging around in the background. As the burn line approaches the band the cinnamon note starts to pop. Strength has ramped up significantly. Overall an excellent experience. Total smoke time 1:20.

  33. Foot smells of honey and wheat bread. Sweet wheat bread on the cold draw 1/3 first few puffs remind me of the scent of old spice aftershave. The sweet wheaty notes remain with cedar and very light spice. The burn line is even with a light grey ash. The veins on the wrapper give it a nice rustic look. The draw is on the snug side. At the one inch mark a nice lemon like note appears but fades quickly. Baking spice is starting to come through on the retro. The first ash held on for well over an inch before dropping just short of the ash tray. 2/3 burn line continues to be flawless. The creamy smoke leaves an oily mouth feel. The flavor notes mimic the first third with just a slight uptick in the baking spice. 3/3 the notes from the second carry through. This is a perfect early afternoon cigar, not too strong, medium body/strength. This may displace the lancero at the top of my Nudie list. Total smoking time 60 minutes.
