Bill, I think we are on the same page. When the "boss" is away, the boy will play. I enjoy my solo time when the wife is away on business. Just me and my 2 doggy girls to smoke and enjoy. Quite time is a plus!3 points

It has been a quarter century since tobacco advertising has been banned in Oz. Much of the world has followed suit and in my humble opinion it is a stretch when one can't even display cigars openly to customers seeking a cigar in many countries. I was reading this shallow as a saucer article this morning re the FDA ruling. No need to click on it but here it is if you wish. http://www.maxim.com/maxim-man/fda-regulation-punishes-cigar-smokers-2016-7 Now, I am no prude as anyone who has hung out with me can attest Yet, images like these ....while possibly "alluring" really don't give our industry/hobby a gnats gonads chance at running a campaign stating that we are capable of self regulating to a mature standard. I understand that these are stock Getty Images. Yet I see similar images time and time again in mags, online sites and new/existing cigar marketing. When was the last time you saw a woman smoking a cigar this way? ...or like this OK....maybe Havanathon. Actually I just realized I am a hypocrite. End of post2 points

My grandpa piloted a landing craft. He only ever told us that war was hell. He never elaborated. Can only imagine the horrors he saw firsthand on Normandy.2 points

Mag 56. Not a fan of the RG but wow these are good. These will be something very special in years to come as they are already amazing but you can tell they have potential to be even better. Surprised that the burn was so perfect considering the large RG. Flavours were amazing. Very powerful stick. Definitely not for the mild cigar lovers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

Great way to spend a Friday afternoon and evening. Decided to open my box of Partagas SDC #1 2006 and it was great! Blasts of wood, pepper and spices. Plenty of legs on these. Great with a cortado coffee. Followed by a lovely R&J Churchill. I can see why people are saying good things about these Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

Observing the relentless turn of the regulatory screws on several continents for many years now, I do believe that cigar makers, merchants and aficionados made a huge strategic mistake. We never really put together the sort of campaign required to distinguish ourselves properly in the minds of the public, the activists and legislators from the cigarette market. So now all forms of consumption -- cigars, pipes, snuff -- are lumped in under the heading of Big Bad Tobacco, and regulated as such. The notion of "all tobacco is the same, all tobacco is bad tobacco" is too deeply anchored, I fear, to give us any sort of room to enjoy our pastime.1 point

With your analysis, you are not too far off the mark, I fear. This, however, remains to be shown...1 point

I think his film is shaping up to be pretty decent. I hope Vader is a prominent character in the film as I don't think we saw enough of him in the original trilogy!1 point

Unfortunately, the duty still applies, regardless of whether it is bought or sent by a friend as a gift. They can even ping you when you bring back cigars (bought and duty paid in Aus) you took overseas on vacation. Double dipping yes, but you can't prove they are the exact same ones you already paid duty on.1 point

I should restate, friends that don't usually smoke. They won't care it's a NC Monte (that's not so good)! Night smoke, Ramon Bueso Genesis the project:1 point
