Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to Blue Steel, my new ride. She's got a bald tire, which is nice because we have balding in common. Something for us to talk about when we're hanging out and stuff. Now I know what you're thinking: "But Derek, that's a '96! You've never had such a new car! Can you handle it?" Don't worry, my friends. She may be the newest car I've ever had, but she has plenty of familiar features! 200k miles? Check. Broken driver's side window? Check. Squealing engine belts? Check. Cracked front turn light? Check. Stereo that turns off randomly? Check! It's almost like I'm back in my Mazda! She does have some features I've never had before, but she's doing her best to make me feel comfortable with them. For example, she has tinted windows, but just in case I was worried, some of it is peeling off as if to let me know that if it ever makes me uncomfortable, it can come off. Thoughtful, right? There's also air conditioning, another new feature for me. But it only gets a little cold, not very cold. I assume it's to keep me from freezing in case I try to abuse the new amenity. She's really just protecting me from myself. Anyways, be kind to her when you see her coming. Well... you'll probably hear her coming before you see her, but you know what I mean.11 points

Great Saturday smoke with a good friend. Went into the vault and broke out some Vintage smokes! Early 80's Diplomaticos #7's. Super dark and oily cigars. You can smell them in the box across the room. SUPER white ash and incredible intense flavors. I am a big Diplomaticos fan and the 7's are def my favorite. Even though I am down to less than a half a box, cigars like these are meant to be shared. I would trade just about any cigar in my stash to acquire some more of these, that's for sure!6 points

I didn't find it so much a Cuban vs. non-Cuban thing but rather as an obvious lack of knowledge with a lot of bad information being presented.4 points

The US doesn't have the corner on the idiot market....but you wouldn't know it watching these guys. I see it all the time in other areas i follow; firearms, computers, etc. Four guys get a web page and a camera and BAM they are experts. As soon as they get a few hits, vendors will send them stuff to 'review' and the arrogance and misinformation only gets worse. I quit listening to guys like them a long time ago. I know where to find knowledgeable experts and I'm comfortable and secure enough that I don't need some schmuck to tell me what I do and don't like. Yawn...idiots here, nothing to see, move along.....3 points

Two cigar day while on the move '10 Noellas - super yummy, I always take one when travelling. Keeps my mood up.. '08 Punch Emiratos - fairly inconsistent taste from stick to stick in the same box, construction always robust though. Will finish the remainder of the box slowly as I can't see myself reaching out for this regularly..3 points

My wife and I love the outdoors, we spend as much time as we can up in the New Hampshire white mountains hiking, backpacking, and kayaking. We are currently working on climbing the highest peeks of New Hampshire which is part of the Appalachian Mountains. There are 48 peeks that are currently recognized by the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC). We have summited 41 of them and expect to finish the list this summer. Most are above tree line and are absolutely breath taking when your up there, Gods country I like to call it. If anybody is interested I could start a thread with pics of us on the summits and other beautiful discoveries while hiking up. Oh, and the Pemigewasset (Abanake indian word for swift) river runs right behind the site so we drive the kayaks up river about 14 miles and kayak right back to our site, then bike back to my truck and drive it back. We bought a 5th wheel RV about 8 years ago so we could travel around to various places we enjoy hiking and kayaking and decided that a central location in the middle of the White Mountains would be ideal to have a permanent place to park and call our own for 6 months a year. This pictue is of our seasonal site. It's mine as long as I want it and I bring the 5th wheel up there middle of April and haul it home end of October. Everything you see in the pic was done by my wife and I. When we got the site it was simply a notch cut out of the woods. We did all the landscaping, put up the Gazebo and shed, made the racks for our kayaks, laid down the stone etc. Now it's our little piece of heaven. You can't see much behind the RV in the shed area but there's a gazebo there and a fire pit and a wall of wood (2 cords). Right in front of the kayaks I laid down a small patio and have my grill and smoker. So after a nice long smoke of a brisket or ribs and we fill our belly we kick back and light the fire and spark up a nice cigar with a single malt. (well at least I do, my wife makes one of those fancy martini's) That's where I find my cigar smoking Zen (smoking something from Rob of course), listening to and enjoying nature the way it was meant to be. Many times we have friends up to enjoy and share all this with. Many laughs and good times have been had around that campfire, and we seem to solve all the worlds problems too, at least until the buzz wears off. Thanks for looking3 points

Thought it'd be fun to start a new thread about what's your daily driver. Been driving my dad's 81 BMW for the past 5 years. Really fun old car to drive and it's been very reliable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

In the 50s kids had no respect, sexual dancing gyrating hips, listening to rock and roll, slicking their hair back running in gangs In the 60s kids had no respect, long hair, smoking pot, sleeping around and not being patriotic for the war In the 70s kids had no respect, spending all their time in the disco with that tight pants showing off their private parts, racing cars in the street and wasting all their money on blow In the 80s dumb kids, long greasy hair and fighting at rock concerts or punks dens shooting lines of coke and downing vodka, sitting around all day dreaming about being in a band or anarchy, no respect In the 90s kids sulking about smoking pot and doing heroin, fighting and shooting up the school with Daddy's shotgun then spending all night up on video games or in gangs listening to that hippity hoppity rap music, no respect There's a day when you wake up and realise that you've become the square, man!2 points

Nice spots for a smoke. Here are a few of my favorite places to smoke. I call this my smoking Perch. I took the picture , of the smoking perch, from here. And now a shot of the view. That spot is about 1/2 hour drive from my home. Here is another spot, I hang out to smoke. It is a bout 45 minute drive from home. And another spot, 2 miles from my house. I am lucky to live in a wonderful area to have a smoke. Dave (A.K.A. Homebrew)2 points

There exist some things that are so serious, one can only joke about them...........I'm not laughing. Where does one start to clean up the cesspool that is current society? You cannot effectively verbiate any change, so what is left? Legislation? Say that word aloud three times and try not to laugh. Or cry........ Enforcement? Trust the trogloditic minions of the police farce? Education? Subsidised day care with social promotion as a guarantee of... ? Harsh you say?.......... There is an easy way to do this? Taking the easy way is WHY we are in this mess.............2 points

www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Bz7Ibpnz_E "Cigar Authority Smoking Pi & Eating Pie With Cuba" At about 49:15 is where a complete moron takes the stage. These guys are so saturated with non- cuban cigar companies talking crap about cuban cigars. I get tired of it and videos like this make my blood boil sometimes. Maybe I'm overly passionate but as an American its guys like this that give the real aficionados a hard time.1 point

Smoking through a 2013 box. I have two more full boxes before these are a memory. To me a Churchill or DC represents class. Love the two larger formats. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point
