Starbucks coffee and a Siglo VI.
Kind of like a Big Mac and a glass of Chateau Latour.

Which beans are you getting from Amazon?

H. Upmann no. 2 BRE 18'. I love this box. Classy and enjoyable. It makes wonder how many pre-revolution vitolas are left in the habanos s.a. portfolio currently?

Lavazza Super Crema.  I keep trying different boutique roasters, but I always come back to Lavazza.

1. There are 69 current regular production cigars left that were produced pre-1960. Of these, Romeo y Julieta accounts for 15 releases, Partagas 11, H.Upmann 9 and Hoyo de Monterrey 7.
2. There are 120 current regular production cigars produced after the revolution. This includes 11 ICT releases (such as Cohiba Shorts and Trinidad Shorts, for example). Lavazza Super Crema.  I keep trying different boutique roasters, but I always come back to Lavazza.
 

Thanks for the quick reply. My go to for years has been Segafredo Extra Strong but the store I normally bought it from was closed for a long time and in Canada on Amazon it is third party sellers for that one and pricing and shipping aren’t great. I am on my second bag of Lavazza Gran Aroma and like it but don’t prefer it to the Segafredo. I just received a bag of the Gran Crema so I’ll try that next and based in your recommendation I’ll order a bag of the Super Crema to try.

Trinidad Topes MUP Oct 2019

When you purchase a box of Habanos cigars, how often do you find that the first from the box may be stunning whilst the second is mind-boggling average? Welcome to the world of Cuban cigars!

Yes, indeed the first 2019 Trinidad Topes (I feel I need to point that out to distinguish it from the 2016 Limited Edition) from this box was sensational. This however was just ordinary. The first one had strong elements of spice, coffee and butter pastry. In-between it had some savoury salt and slight gingerbread-type sweetness but it was definitely all-quality and all-class.

This second one from the box was more wood, dark coffee and a little salt. I was amazed how different it was. At least it had that butter texture to it which I am currently simply loving in the recent 2019 Trinidad releases.

Oh well and ho hum...it's off to the drawing board as I forget about this cigar and look forward to the next Trinidad Topes I smoke, probably next week!

Second to last CORO 2001. All savory and cedar, like the prior sticks. Not bad but not a rich experience. 

Holy moly you look like my father. Had to double take as I thought is was a younger picture of him. He is in his 70s now but you are definitely are a younger version of him.

After I busy day back at the clinic it is nice to sit back have a cigar and reflect on what we have had to do to adapt to the “new normal”. It’s been a challenge no doubt but it’s also opened my eyes to more important things in life. Having a BRE AGO 17 maddy 1, I have been a fan of these much before the recent maduro hype train when these would sit and not sell out on 24:24. A great change of pace cigar and one that has aged beautifully.

Close call but gotta give it to the PL Italia.  Second half was just all sweet caramel... delicious.  Dip was better from the jump but never reached the heights of the PL
