Was oddly off work for Memorial Day. Made some killer ribs. Could only manage my last Sancho Panza Bachilleres as using a wood burner. Smoking a Punch Monarcas as I type. Outstanding cigar.

I’ve been in a bit of a cigar slump recently. The last few cigars have either had construction issues or just weren’t up to par flavor wise. Broke the slump tonight in a big way. Connie A with excellent flavors and perfect construction.

Had a beautiful SCDLH La Punta OEB March 2007 from the box pass (thanks @FatherOfPugs!). So pretty, I almost didnt want to smoke it.  But I'm glad I did!  

What a smoke! I got cream, coffee and that wonderful Cuban twang!  Well constructed, razor sharp burn and tons of flavoer.  Highly recommended.

Romeo y Julieta Churchills OBM Dic 2016

This was the last RyJ Churchill from this box and on the whole these have been very, very good, both in regards to flavour and especially in regards to construction. This was a touch under medium and had the quintessential RyJ turkish delight, rosewater and anise but was light on berry/cherry-type flavours and cocoa.

Still, there was enough to satisfy, as the cigar didn't descend at any point into the 'toasted tobacco blandness' I've experienced with this vitola prior to 2015 and I'm grateful for that outcome.

My sister-in-law surprised me for my birthday with three months of a Cigar of the Month Club. Pictured below are the first four cigars that came in the first package. I figured I would be a good sport and give each one a try.

Last night I had the little one.  That was terrible. It was a flavored cigar of some sort and just tasted like sugar packets on the lips. Next up was the EP Carrillo. It was actually quite good.

Tonight are the two big boys. I am smoking a 6 x 60 right now and as soon as I can't take it anymore I will fire up that 7 x 70 monster.  I put that giant monster next to a Punch Punch to show the scale of that thing. It is truly ridiculous.

I hope 8 x 80 does not show up next month.
