I love the whole concept of Thanksgiving and know how much our US members get into it. Let us live vicariously through you 

If you get a chance over the 4 days, light up a Nudie or BR and post the photo in the Faces of Fábrica 5 Competition as the personalised Media Rueda of cigars gets drawn December 1. I know our team in Danli is loving the photos and upon their return from vacation they will document the rolling of your cigars. It will be truly special. 

Hell, Nudies/BR cigars or not, post your Thangsgiving photos on this thread and go into the draw for a 10 count box of BR 109.

Family is at my house this year. Football will be on. My kids will be running around going nuts. I'm holding the baby while wifey cooks. Great holiday. There will be a traditional cigar after dinner. Can't wait. Now to choose what to smoke…

Morning will be hectic between wife cooking her dishes, and me watching the kids and trying to get them and myself ready and helping her out in anyway I can. Heading out to my parents for a few hours. Seeing my brother will be fun since I haven’t seen him in a few months (he lives in a different state) then after heading to her family’s and eating there. Hopefully watching some football between all that. Will be a great time and of course delicious food. I need to pull out a cigar to smoke for after dinner, and decide what bottle of wine to bring over. What a great holiday!

We do the traditional Thanksgiving but the real event is THE GAME on Saturday!  We have a few families over for pizza, drinks, snacks, and rivalry football. Go Buckeyes!!!

Had a busy workday on Monday, will need to put in some hours at the office part of Tuesday, but by afternoon I "should" be free from business obligations until next Monday. We're hosting lunch on Thursday so wife is prepping the cooking shifts. In-laws will be coming over and spending the night in our guestroom Wednesday so mother in law can be a part of cooking & table prep on Thanksgiving. From there, football, nap on couch, wine, desserts, and just chilling at the hacienda. The "fun" starts early Friday morning when I take a one way flight to Raleigh, NC to buy a car (2008 Land Rover LR3). Assuming no issues, I'll spend Friday night at a hotel in Kingsport, TN and rise early Saturday to make the 6.5 hr journey back to my home in west TN. Should be able to catch the 2nd half of Georgia/Georgia Tech football game & all of the Iron Bowl on Saturday night. 

I've been fighting a cold for the last week so not sure what cigars (if any) will be a part of the holiday. Sucks because the weather is going to change soon & I'll be in the mood for a smoke but not willing to freeze my ass off to enjoy one. Oh well, better for aging I guess...

I grew up 30 miles from where the Pilgrims landed and went to school with several Pilgrim descendants. My parents' house is steps away from colonial properties. That is to say, I like Thanksgiving in its most traditional sense.  

There's a turkey farm a few miles from my house and it's a new tradition for us to buy a turkey there. Waiting in line at 7 AM, but worth it!  I quarter the turkey and remove the thigh bones before cooking. Saves many hours of cooking. Browning and doneness can be controlled on each piece. The carcass, neck, and thigh bones are used for broth ahead of time. That broth can be used in stuffing, gravy, and then frozen in the portioned vacuum bags for future use. I usually do them in 3 cup bags for paella making. 

We serve the meal around 1 pm as our guests are elderly (mom, aunt & uncle) and don't want them driving at so dark out.

Wife's kids are with their dad this year so its the two of us and my paralegal/her husband at the club. No stress. Celebrating paralegal's husband beating cancer.

LR3 was the first Land Rover under Ford. They actually put some effort in. One of the better Land/Range Rovers.

Early Thanksgiving in Nashville with the family. Granddaughter singing over the weekend.  Tree lighting at a small town near Nashville. Cool small town dive bar there called the Front Street Pub. Owner is friends with the family up there. Names Thomas if you drop in. British guy I believe owns a store there that can flat out duplicate Elvis. Great karaoke that night. Cohibas all week and pretty much aiming for more tonight!

This. I'm a sucker for SUVs and this one is very clean & has been well maintained. Love V8 engines, too. 

My car situation is kind of odd, too. In 2020, I bought a right-hand drive Japanese-market 1993 Nissan Safari (sold as the Patrol in post of the world; never landed in the USA, however). Vehicle is bulletproof and gets a lot of attention everywhere I go. Absolute monster off road for a full size SUV, too. However, my college age son needed a car so he now has it in Tuscaloosa, AL. My daily driver is a company provided 2024 Ford Escape, which is fine and very convenient but gets parked on the weekends since I don't want to invite any corporate scrutiny on personal use, etc. I have a 5-speed 1999 Jeep Wrangler TJ 2-door that is a fine city streets driver but has been modified a bit for off-road use & isn't a very good option on the highway. This takes me down to daughter and wife... my bride has a 2011 Lexus GX470 that she LOVES, and daughter (16 yr old; spoiled rotten) got a 2016 Land Rover Discovery Sport back in May 2025. The teenage girl is pretty much never home now that she has mobility to be with friends, go to cheer practice, etc. Wife needs her car for work & daily stuff. So I've been borrowing either my daughter's or wife's vehicle when I have a road trip for leisure/personal use (had a hunting camp in Alabama, like to spend weekends in the Tuscaloosa for football season, etc), which inconveniences them while I'm gone and I come home to drama about me getting a chill weekend and they've suffered without their car blah blah blah...

So this LR3 popped up, it checks a lot of boxes, and I can get it for about $6,000 USD. I've already got a relationship with a local Land Rover mechanic, so having to get bent over by the local Land Rover dealer's service department shouldn't be a factor (I can turn a wrench on basic stuff, too). There is now a backup vehicle when I need to service either of the lady's rides, as both (to date) have been too intimidated to learn how to drive the 5-speed in the Jeep. This won't be a factor forever (both know they HAVE to learn it soon) but I'm not pushing it in the near term.

Thinking I need to find a cigar shop in Raleigh & grab a few for the ride back home! Have to jump on the Google & see who has the best selection. Have never smoked a cigar in a car, but since this ride is MINE I can do whatever I want in it!!! Looking forward to joining @SigmundChurchill, @Ford2112, and others with their Daily Smoke entries behind the wheel!

I made turkey on Monday so I am already where the average turkey eating family is three days later- the when the hell are we going to be finished with the turkey soup phase. Thus liberated from the normal holiday constraints I will be having Chinese takeout and lighting up a Lusi.

Thanksgiving is just with the wife this year. We were supposed to be with the family but she got COVID 11 days ago - had to cancel our plans. I picked up a 12 lb. fresh turkey. Just finished wet brining for 7 hours and then the below rub which is a family tradition. Salt, chili pepper, paprika, and lots of TANG. Yes, the orange juice powder that was good enough for NASA. Gives the turkey a slight orange taste and really turns the skin a beautiful orange color. Picture below is after sitting with the dry rub for an hour just before putting it on the smoker with Apple chunks. Will try and post another picture when it's done in ~ 5 to 6 hours.

Second picture is a nice Thanksgiving cigar while I spritzed the turkey every 15 minutes for an hour with Apple juice. Last picture is the turkey at 147 degrees. F prior to tenting with butter and more Apple juice for a nice slow 200 deg. F finish slowly bringing it up to 165 degrees. F and ready for serving at 4:00 PM. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone at FOH!

My first time being allowed to cook the turkey. Turned out great I think. My daughter grabbed a whole leg!

Got to golf yesterday and smoked a PLPC while walking the course. Pretty great couple of days.
