El Presidente Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 This series to explore whether a particular cigar is humidor worthy. Cost these days is an issue for many so let's see if we can highlight some absolute standouts. This should particularly assist those new to the cigar world. To be fair, most of the cigars we have featured to date have scored exceptionally well. Surprisingly well! Scoring is: 1-3 (Poor) 4-6 (Average to good) 7-10 (very good to excellent) Use the Poll. You are more than free to comment away Punch Punch is one of my favourite cigars and over the past 5 years they have been as good as at anytime I can recall. It is getting harder and harder to readily find a box of these classics but if you do track one down, give it serious consideration. Maybe you don't agree! Let us know Today: Punch Punch Let's kick off the discussion 3
BG318 Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 Tasty. I have gone two boxes deep, and will look to replace them, one box at a time, as they are depleted. I don't know why I think of them as a special cigar, but I save them for more reserved occasions than as a workhorse type smoke. I could see someone else lighting one up every week on a golf course, but it took a long time for me to get my hands on a box so I treat them like gold. 4
Popular Post JohnS Posted August 22, 2025 Popular Post Posted August 22, 2025 When it comes to the Punch Punch, I wonder if the problem is me? I wonder whether my expectations are too high? If I get some 'Cuban twang' out of them, then I am exhilarated at the prospect of smoking them, but if not, I may find myself smoking one down just to finish it and get it over and done with. We all know what that feels like! Having said this, I am usually more pleased than disappointed when it comes to this cigar. 5
Chibearsv Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 They are growing on me since I’ve learned to be a little more patient with them. They remind me a lot of Mag 46. There’s a timing sweet spot when they’re a little feisty but classy at the same time. 3 1
Mike Mecklenburg Posted August 23, 2025 Posted August 23, 2025 I have some from 2021 and 2023 and they have been good to me so I like them. 4
ElLoboLoco Posted August 23, 2025 Posted August 23, 2025 Used to be my favorite cigar, well after the SS1, SS2 and Black Prince went extinct. The last box I had was plugged and just a shit show. But the good ones were special. 2
pohlmad Posted August 23, 2025 Posted August 23, 2025 These are absolutely in my top 3. Probably my top when looking at value. 3
Popular Post Lucas Buck Posted August 23, 2025 Popular Post Posted August 23, 2025 My favorite current Punch cigar from one of my favorite marcas. I’ve had wonderful luck with these over the years. Only a very few lackluster sticks and they were probably too young for my taste. Punch is second only to Cohiba needing lots of age to shine in my experience. 5
westg Posted August 23, 2025 Posted August 23, 2025 Have always loved them. Always will. Will always have them around if only a few. 3
Popular Post Thirds Posted August 23, 2025 Popular Post Posted August 23, 2025 I don’t reach for them frequently enough; somehow they always get forgotten. But when I do smoke them, I always say I should smoke these more often. 5
chasy Posted August 23, 2025 Posted August 23, 2025 Had one today and it was great. My favorite in the vitola. 3
Popular Post David8406 Posted August 23, 2025 Popular Post Posted August 23, 2025 This is one cigar that will always be in my humidor. A unique flavor profile for me and one of my favorites. Enjoyable young but really rounds out nicely after 4-5 years. 5
dicko Posted August 23, 2025 Posted August 23, 2025 Mus recommended them to me a few years ago and I bought a box of 2021 Punch Punch and they are top 3 cigars in my humidor. To me they taste "old school" leather, spices, earth but in a medium bodied balanced format. Sent from my SM-G986B using Tapatalk 4
cnov Posted August 23, 2025 Posted August 23, 2025 This is the first box that gave me a stand out fantastic smell on opening. I absolutely love the smell of the humidor when opening it, there's a real sweet tobacco smell. Individual boxes generally smell good but my Punch Punch smell amazing, I've not gotten it from any other box, it's almost a sweet fruit cakey smell and I can't get enough of it. 3
BrightonCorgi Posted August 23, 2025 Posted August 23, 2025 I am a big Punch fan across the range. I wish they more accessible. Punch is on my top 4 marca list. 4
zeedubbya Posted August 23, 2025 Posted August 23, 2025 One of my favorites. Probably my favorite cigar to give to new smokers as well. They always seem to smoke them further down than anything else. Consistent as any cigar, are great fresh and are superb aged. Have a partial dress box, a partial cab and a full cab in my humidor and don’t think it’s enough. Top tier. I do wish the SS1 and RS2 were still available, but I find the Punch Punch an adequate replacement for the few RS11 and the Black Prince I’ve smoked over the years. 3

In order for me: SS2, RS11, PP, BP. That being said all very good. No cabs of PP left in my cabinet but there is a full DB of PP. Last box for me! And don't get me started on SS1 cabs!! 3
griller Posted August 23, 2025 Posted August 23, 2025 Love the Punch Punch. Agree with @KCCubano and his Punch rankings & really miss the three other vitolas that are no longer in active production. I have a dress box from 2018 that has been decent but not spectacular. Maybe 11-12 remaining that will hopefully turn it up a notch with age. 2
Habanoschris Posted August 23, 2025 Posted August 23, 2025 I had a couple of boxes LGR MAR 18 blew me away and since then my expectations are high and haven't been completely satisfied. With that being said I did enjoy one last week on vacation and got one single to age. 👌😚💨
Redgoldband Posted August 23, 2025 Posted August 23, 2025 Don’t know much about Punch, but looks like I need to grab some by the looks of this thread. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
