El Presidente Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Cigar Non Performers.....from the hip, which box of cigars in your collection would you trade/BR away? Keep in mind one person's trash is another person's treasure. Pick one box.
riderpride Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Ooooh, that's tough. I've suffered through Ramon Allones Extra that tasted like Ligero paper and tried multiple times with different meals and bevvies to try and find something that would work. I don't give up on much. As far as me not loving aged stock, the Monte 520 is too much rg to be enjoyable for me. Far from trash though. Cheers! 1
wemann Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Easy. UEB MAR 18 HDM Epi 1. Bought 2 boxes when fresh and cracked one two months ago. Construction is all over the place with weight and ring gauge even. First half dozen were plugged and borderline unsmokable, but hey that’s Cuba. The aroma that cold though is stunning. Put both boxes away for a very long sleep, will revisit in a few years. I’m not good at selling things…
JohnS Posted May 6 Posted May 6 I hate to say it but a box of Partagas Maduro No.3. I've struggled to connect with this cigar and a few bad ones of late hasn't helped in any way either.

99call Posted May 6 Posted May 6 I want to like the boxes Monte 1s I have, but the Lemon zestiness with milk chocolate thing is very jarring for me. 1 1

Love that profile For me I am struggling with Partagas Shorts of late. I am finding them hohum in every way and it is not just one box. May be just a phase I am going through. 1

Will they be back on the menu frequently? Wow a bad Party Short!?? You should preserve them in formaldehyde and tour them in a jar as a part of a freak show. 1

Hit and miss on the supply chain. Once a month on average would be a guess. PM me. Happy to help out. In regards to the general supply chain, we are advised some thin months ahead. We have been here before. 1 2
Chas.Alpha Posted May 6 Posted May 6 I’ll probably be accused of heresy, but the Punch Punch aren’t doing it for me. They remind me of when grandma would put too many cloves on the Christmas ham. 😕 1 1
Ruggerpgh99 Posted May 6 Posted May 6 This is really disappointing for me, but my box of 2015 Punch Petit Coronations have been a major disappointment. Maybe the whole box is a dud, I have tried a good amount out of the box but they just fall flat every time.
joeypots Posted May 6 Posted May 6 R&J Churchills from ’19. The best of them so far have been just OK. 2
HuffnPuffff Posted May 6 Posted May 6 The Punch Emirates 2008 were, IMHO, dog shit caked in pooh. I did everything I could to try to enjoy at least one of them over a 13 year period, but it was hopeless. The wrappers reminded me of kale; dull, oil free & devoid of any sensory pleasure whatsoever. I definitely could not have listed them on BR in good faith. The silver lining is that it put me off the regionals series for good; something I’m very happy about. I’ve also really struggled with some 2018 BPC - they are so strong flavour wise they make me blush. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2

Devoid of anything, just bland. Complete let down from Bolivar from the same era. Great cigars (also a few stragglers remain). 1
Lucas Buck Posted May 6 Posted May 6 ‘03 RASCC - smoked half a dozen and every one has been meh to blah. 1
AshesToExcellence Posted May 6 Posted May 6 I'd BR away my box of Romeo y Julieta Wide Churchills faster than you can click “Add to Cart” on a special-edition Spada Gorda drop. Now don’t get me wrong. These guys look like they’ve got swagger. Cuban pedigree, shiny bands, charming name. But light one up and suddenly you’re in a rom-com that forgot the comedy. It's like they tried to tell a story but fell asleep halfway through the plot. Smoke output? Sure. But flavor? Somewhere between polite boredom and a weak tea someone once thought about steeping. If these had a motto it’d be: “Wide on Churchill, long on disappointment.” Still, beauty's in the eye of the box owner, right? So if you're out there and your dream pairing is bland toast with a side of nostalgia, have I got a trade for you. Thank you. 1
loose_axle Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Montecristo Edmundos, traded the remains of that box away pretty quickly. Not one of the six I smoked had flavours that spoke to my palate.

chasy Posted May 7 Posted May 7 QdO 50. I’m not going to put effort into moving them given they aren’t worth much. I’ll just stash away and hope the improve. So far, total dud.
BrightonCorgi Posted May 7 Posted May 7 I don't have any dud boxes, but do have boxes that I just don't ever smoke. LGC No. 1 or 2 (have to look to see which one they are). I love the cigars, but don't smoke them. At some point I'll trade them, I guess. Same with a cab of Punch Super Selections. The cigars just sit. Nothing wrong with either box, but just aren't as in my wheelhouse as they were years ago. I had sold off a bunch of great Lonsdale boxes as I just wasn't into that vitola at the time. I wouldn't mind have a couple of them back. Oh well. 1

So far, total dud. I was in a similar camp to this until last week. Had my fourth from a box that was fantastic whereas the rest were entirely unremarkable. I think it was a 2019 box of I remember correctly. The draw was on the tighter side, not sure if that helped the cause. If you were in the UK I'd take them off your hands but I reckon you should give them another go down the line. 1

Cigarsmoker81 Posted May 7 Posted May 7 I’ve couple of boxes of Partagas Maduro No 3 and one No 1 that I’m not connecting to. It’s a 'meh' cigar to me and I’ve had it since ‘21. Will revisit soon but it just seems not for me. 1
