Popular Post El Presidente Posted January 22 Popular Post Posted January 22 What are you handing out these days when you are catching up with mates? I have a working lunch today with 6 others who are a mix of old mates and new potential service providers. I have chosen the lunch venue that has a cigar deck attached. Yes, I know "lunch meetings" are considered so uncool these days but you can shove your ZOOM and "coffee club" meetings up your arse. If you want to develop relationships with people...go to lunch/dinner...and if they smoke, have a cigar together. No charge for that super deep piece of advice Where was I? Yes...what are you handing out these days when catching up with mates? I ask this because I noticed that I have handed out the same cigar now the past three outings. Size, flavour, quality has been brilliant. It is the Cohiba Siglo IV 5 packs. I pray to God they are pre-price rise...I should ask Di What are you grabbing to hand out? 6
Popular Post Li Bai Posted January 22 Popular Post Posted January 22 Quai d'Orsay 52 from a glorious box I purchased in '22 👍 5
Chibearsv Posted January 22 Posted January 22 I'm alone in the garage until May. Can I defer my answer until then? This past summer, MoFoh Robusto was the biggest hit. "You got any more of those good cigars?" was an often heard request regarding the Robustos. 4
tsolomon Posted January 22 Posted January 22 When I met up with friends out in California, I handed out several of the Desnudo Queen Coronas and everyone liked them. 2
jfire Posted January 22 Posted January 22 A week ago I handed out some 4 year old Partagas Culebras that were a hit in my home lounge to a group of 10 guys. Playoff NFL and Culebras. 70 degrees in the heated lounge and 16 degrees F outside. Was a great night. 4

ha_banos Posted January 22 Posted January 22 You gave me one of those Sig IV. Many thanks again and very nice it was too outside the Blue Posts. We had a bit of a gathering last week. I cracked a box of 2016 Gigantes for the crew. They all performed really well. Also got a chance to taste couple of PVW! One off chance that. Also very nice. 3

Wookie Posted January 23 Posted January 23 What is currently prescribed bottles of vino per mate at an Aussie business lunch. Seems like Ken and his wine buddies go prodigious.
dicko Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Decent mid-range NC like a Fuente or La Aroma or something for a group scenario. Cubans are just for the BOTL brothers now. I've given plenty of Cubans out before, and still will, but in a group situation its devastating seeing an inch smoked Monte 2 or whatever ashed out especially at $100 a pop or whatever the hell we pay in Aussie now! gormag38 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 If it's for a group of true BOTLs, I almost always pull out Cubans. I think the last two times it's been a HU2 from a 22 box. I love them so I want my close friends or family, who indulge, to try them too. If it's for a group of others who typically don't smoke cigars then I'll pull something out from the NC tupperdor. Typically Fuente or a Nudie. 1
BG318 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Dear Sir, I am very interested in being a service provider for your organization. I believe that I can be a great asset to your already strongly positioned company, and would like to arrange a lunch meeting with you at your earliest convenience. Thanks in advance 2
cnov Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Many variables, but I agree with @gormag38 if we're talking pre-meditated. If I've had a few too many drinks and I'm anywhere near my stash on a sunny day, I'm probably going to be regrettably generous with cigars I'll probably never replace. 1 1
garifo Posted January 23 Posted January 23 99% of the time, I smoke alone in my garage. However, a few times a year when I meet up with my cousin in Vegas, we always share some of our favorites: D4, Cohiba Siglo I, a Don Pepin Garcia Lancero, and Davidoff No. 2. Coming up trip also planning to have H. Upmann Sir Winston a new one in the lineup. 2
Popular Post BrightonCorgi Posted January 23 Popular Post Posted January 23 It's been forever since someone came by to smoke cigars. Be it mine or their own. I normally would give out whatever I am smoking. If they're "into" cigars, they can pick whatever they want. 5
Perla Posted January 23 Posted January 23 We had a gathering in August. And all are into cigars. I handed out LGC Tainos. In return I received custom rolled from Cuba, SLR Regios, Partagas Salomon, Bolivar CG, MC PE. Was fun, will be repeated. 💨💨💨 2
Goldeneye Posted January 23 Posted January 23 There are 3 of us who regularly meet up for cigars and when I am providing cigars it is either Nudies or AF Hemingway. A couple times a year it may be a Cuban either a PLPC or Monte #4, mainly due to my dwindling Cuban supply.

smokeyjoe01 Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Last cigar I gave away was an Upmann Corona Major tubo

zeedubbya Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Kind of funny story on this. I had about 2/3 box of Connie 1 buried in back of humidor from 2016 and I just couldn’t stand those cigars when they were fresh. We had a hosted work dinner with our employees at my GM’s new house and so I grabbed that box, thinking I would gift them to him. We moved outside to the patio area and I pulled them out and laid them on a coffee table outside with lighter and cutter beside it. Grabbed the best looking one for me, lit it and immediately said in my mind (maybe verbally even), SH*%. These are wonderful. It was amazing how good these had become. The 8 to 9 cigar smokers there enjoyed them immensely and I gave a couple to the host and took the 5 left home. Was a revelation. Typically I have some lower priced but good NCs to hand out, because no one really pays attention to them anyway. Otherwise for getting together with friends, who are cigar smokers I like to be (I think) generous. 4
joeypots Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Cigars that have been gifted to me. My buddy Ken always gives me cigars because he is trying to get me to appreciate the cigars he likes rather than the shitty Cuban cigars I love. And he doesn’t buy good NWs, he’s thrifty. Go figure.
