Longtime lurker here, and by longtime, I mean I've been reading FoH and watching Rob and Ken on YouTube for about 5 years. What finally inspired me to post? I popped into my local cigar shop to see what they had and noticed a handful of Upmann Sir Winnies were out. I'd never had one. £65 for a single stick. But I had to try. Smoked it as soon as I humanly could which was the next day, and my gosh, this was another level. At least a 97, but also easily the best single cigar I've ever smoked. I wrote a short review: "Starts off with hay and signature Upmann nuttiness but then vanilla shortbread, melting into some incredible complexity: figs, subtle spice, gingerbread, cinnamon, caramel, salt, things I can’t place. Best cigar I’ve ever had. 97."

My usual favourite cigars by the way are some of the standard Cuban lines: Epi2, JL2, RASS, I like the Monty 3, my all-time favourite until now -- though a bit pricey for a daily smoke -- is the Upmann Connie A. But this Sir Winston was something else.

My question is: where the hell are they? I've been on websites looking for them and it seems like they've been out of stock for years. In fact, since about 2021, it's like the entire Upmann line has been out of stock.

Very limited production and most going straight to big markets like China & middle east. Trini Fundadores, La Trova, Cohiba Lanceros & Esplendidos, Party 898, LGC MdO4, Partagas Salomon, Cuaba Salomon and most DCs are in the same boat. Seems like they're not producing this stuff but 22-23 codes have popped up for almost all of them.

I think they are produced in batches, something like every two years. At least that is what I think Rob said or I read it here somewhere. I guess habanos does not roll them if they do not have the leaf and maybe what is rolled mostly end up with high end costumers. I got a box i  2020 from my local/main vendor, he has not got one since.

Incorrect.  They are made much more often then that.  Doesn't seem to be a set schedule, but we have seen boxes from ever year for the most part.  I have boxes from 2017,2018,2019,2020,2021.  There are 2022, but I stopped paying the crazy price for these.  They really are no longer worth their price.

I sadly agree. At 500 a box it was a no brainer but I have become too cynical to even check the pricing for these post 2021.

I paid, except for 2, 331 per box. That price was crazy low. :Like you said, they were 500ish around 2018/2019.  They slowly crept up to 700 before cigarmageddon I have around 13 boxes, so luckily I'm good for awhile.  I would suggest that they are probably worth 800.  They are 565 in Cuba currently.  But they are going for twice that currently as vendors take advantage of the situation.  A major vendor had them recently for 1300, but they were all 2018's

Depressing to me. I hate to be that guy but thats like 3 bundles of the nudies N6. Easy cost benefit analysis in my eyes. I've got a 2003 box, a 2013, and a 2017 box of sir winnies. I doubt I'll buy more ever.

You come here, post that this is the best cigar you ever had, then wonder why they aren't around! 🤪

Go to the various forums and start smack talking them.  "Waste of Money"  "Overrated"  "Gave me Covid"  etc . . .  Maybe then they will start showing up :)

These aren’t that good, they are over rated, definitely a waste of money. 97 points? Lucky stick . 😉 can’t find them cause they aren’t that good, not worth producing 😂

They've always been a bit harder to find than a lot of regular production. I miss them too,.but I'm not paying what they're asking if I do find them

Really glad you got to enjoy one!  Still have a little less than 1/2 box from the great 2003 vintage that I haven't revisited in probably 6-8 years.  So, so good and wish I had more but sadly its my last box.  Will have to light one up before its 21st birthday.

At the last Bond Roberts event in London, the two Rob's laid on a box of '17 Sir Winnie's and (can't remember the date) a box of Cohiba Robusto. The Winnie's were 97 pointers and that is probably the single best Winnie I've ever had... (thanks again Rob!).

I see Sir Winnie's pop up a lot in Switzerland (c1300 CHF) and in Europe (lower, around 1100 EUR) although I've seen a fair number of poor quality but legit boxes. Some UK vendors have them in around the £1,200 price point last time I checked and they usually go for something slightly north of that on BR.

They can be found but you've got to employ patience and make lots of contacts with various vendors. Good luck!

All of my LCDH contacts in Cuba have seen exactly zero boxes of SW since early 22. They would have told me even if they got ahold of boxes for others. Same situation with MdO4, 898, Partagas Salomon and Fundys. Very little premium product is being kept in Cuba. All going to major markets. Even Monte Wide Edmundo and LGC Turquinos are very rare there. A few boxes popped up at festival time but then gone and have not reappeared.

Michael Jordan has subordinates scouring the planet buying up every box of Sir Winston for his private cigar collection. I believe a thread here recently stated Michael has invested a half million dollars in cigars so far in his lifetime. How many boxes of Winnie's does he possess? Could be thousands or tens of thousands, only he knows. 😁

I was simply talking about pricing, not availability.  Like Cuba, that cigar, and all in your example, are not available anywhere.
