I’ve been slowly developing my favorite pairings - being relatively new to Cuban Cigars (~20 months).

My go to had been H. Upmann (Magnum 54 or Connie 2) with a flat white. (I’ve written about this in my reviews a lot).

In the last 6 months, I developed the taste for Old Fashioned’s paired with HdM San Juan.

Over the Derby weekend, the RyJ Wide Churchill and Mint Julep combo blew my mind.

I want to know what others go to are-

What’s your favorite pairings, what stands out about it for you?

I always enjoy a lemonade/ice tea (Arnold Palmer) with or without a shot of tequila. The sugar helps since im still a bit of a lightweight and the citrus is a great refresher.

Hard liquor pairings and coffee are stalwarts. My favorite is an Americano with a monte no 4 for coffee and an anejo tequila with pretty much any partagas.

Try this one out for size though. After hearing of the marvels of pairing orange juice with a cigar from FOH, I tried my hand at sour beer pairing. Any Belgian Geuze blows your socks off with hoyo de monterrey or Cohiba profiles. They stack up well with H Uppman too. You wont be disappointed.

Fresca with Hoyo and Cohiba is in the same "blows your socks off" category for a teatotaler like me.  I prefer Upmann and Punch with black coffee

Morning cup of my favorite coffee and a La Fuerza would be a great start to any day..I make spritzer drinks with various juices that pair well with cigars as well as iced tea. I'm a fan of Partagas 898 and iced tea.

How much is your tea sweetened?  I’ve been trying to find a good pairing for Lusi’s - might try this.

I’ve been resting some San Cristobal’s - gonna get some espresso and try this out.

I love an Arnold Palmer but I haven't found the cigar that pairs well with it yet.  To me, every cigar tastes bitter after a swig of that Sweet Tea and Lemonade.

I gave the wrong response to "What are your Favorite Cigar and Drink Pairings".  It should've been 1795 Barbeito Terrantez Madeira & Cohiba Gran Reserva.  I forgot my favorites and went with most likely. 😒

I’ll just have to imagine. Both way too rich for my taste 😂

I drink unsweetened brewed iced tea. Everyone is different. Give it a try. Tonic and lime was suggested. I like that too.

I would second some of the soda recommendations I’ve seen. If you like it, Coca Cola or Coke Zero isn’t a bad Monte pairing.

And I somehow managed to neglect champagne. That and port are superb, though I rarely drink alcohol with cigars unless I’m with friends.

I live in the birthplace of sweet tea - and I drink mine unsweetened as well.  Thank you for the heads up.

I have to say, some of the "alternate" root beers (Olipop, and Apple Cider Vinegar Based ones) are excellent pairings with many Cuban cigars, but I especially like it with Por Larranaga Petit Coronas. Ginger Beer with lime is also an excellent pairing, especially with RASS and RASCC.

One of my favorite pairings is a cigar with a Connecticut wrapper and a cup of coffee. It seems they are just made for each other. The Southern Draw Rose of Sharon Desert Rose is a perfect one for this.

For Cubans I love a PL with rum or coffee. Tonight I am pairing my PL Encantos with a Santa Teresa 1796 rum. I often pair many marcas with a cup of black tea (golden monkey, assam, or keemun), and find the pairing fantastic. I also do a lot of sparkling water (La Croix Key Lime is a favorite) and find that it refreshes the palate between puffs.

I don't do a lot of mixed drinks with cigars other than the occasional Mojito which is great, it sounds like you have a few combos that are working great.

Anyone have unique pairings for

RASS

Had a great RASS tonight with a Siete Leguas blanco tequila. I have quite a few tequilas here, and sometimes really good booze clashes with a smoke. But for some reason SL blanco pairs especially well with cigars IMO, and perfectly with this RASS.

Otherwise… café au lait always hits the spot with any cigar 👍

Belgian dubbels or quads if they're over 8 percent abv have raison notes that really punch well with the RA profile.

Thank you for sharing the link. I need to sharpen my search skills on here. Because contrary to popular belief. I did search before posting.  Guess I just suck at searching. My wife would agree … when she asks me to grab something from the pantry.  I can never seem to find it!

In winter - JL#2 Imperial cherry stout

Monte 2 - Imperial pastry choc/coffee stout

BBF - Imperial bourbon barrel aged stout

Party P2 - Captain Raisin beard imperial porter

All go well with long macciato, glass of sparkling water and dark sipping rum - I prefer El Dorado 15yo - 12yo is good too.
