Hammer Smokin' Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 i'd say, likely, now is not the time to raise that question. but then again.... 1 1
JY0 Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Yikes. I'm in Tucson. Glad you are okay but seriously, get an X-ray, you don't know what might be left in there. Lead can do nasty stuff in the bloodstream. If you don't mind, DM where you were so I can avoid the area. 1
B44 Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Dude. This is just wild. Hope you reconsider going to the hospital and getting checked out. We probably all sound like broken records at this point, but if for nothing else it’s peace of mind that nothing serious happened beyond the flesh wound. 1
Connoisseur Kim Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 That's absolutely frieghtning to hear. Wishing you a speedy recovery @BoliDan. 2
GoodStix Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Shocking. You are one tough mofo Dan. My best wishes for your full recovery. 1
bmac Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Please describe the assailant.Would be curious to know! 1
Michael303 Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Wild. Glad you're ok. What a story to tell now. 1
DOYLE Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 I hope you have a speedy recovery and there are no lingering affects of the attempted murder. We weren't promised tomorrow. Smoke the good smokes and tell your family you love them. You or them may not be here tomorrow, make the most of each day. I read the post and it doesn't surprise me but that might be because I've sadly been desensitized due to shootings and other violence being an everyday occurrence here in Los Angeles. We have a lot of follow home robberies, groups targeting people in wealthy locations, gang violence, mentally ill homeless / drug addicts getting ahold of weapons while having episodes, etc. I've encountered several unsavory characters out here, chased off a few people attempting to rob my residence, scared off a few attempting to break into my neighbors, intervened in an attempted robbery/assault and successfully restrained one of the suspects, etc. I always make sure to have certain things on my person to protect myself and others. It's sad that the area and many others have come to be this way. I hope something like this never happens to anyone else. 4 1

Rule 8 No Discussion Of Guns "I love firearms but there is to be no open discussion or inflammatory imagery of firearms. Such topics have invariably led to unwanted US political discourse." Per the forum rule above, no its not. Take the politics elsewhere. This thread isn't about that. Maybe instead say you are happy BoliDan is doing well. 3 3 1

I'm not saying a 22 can't kill you. I've seen 22 rounds from rifles kill people in fact. I was sharing an observation that a pistol fired 22 round can and often does ricochet off of bone. Not trying to take away from @BoliDan or minimize anything. It was a response to someone else who said they read about a similar ricochet in the 80s
PrairieSmoke Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Very glad to see you survived this. I'm also very glad you got the sheriff involved -- the next person they pull up on might not be so lucky. 3
Cigar Surgeon Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 I've been stabbed. Wouldn't recommend it. Hope you heal up soon, glad you're okay. 3
Cabbie Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 I've only been hit by a bounce back ricochet at the range, never been actually shot. That's spooky, glad you're okay.
TR Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Glad you are ok. WTF happened to Tucson? Spent a ton of time there in the early to late 2000's when I built La Encatada. I expect this type of shit here in Chicago, but not Tucson.
MossybackR Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 @BoliDan — please post a status report on how you’re doing today.

NSXCIGAR Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 I wonder how many people in human history have survived a gunshot to the head with no ramifications. Has to be a pretty small club. You've got a conversation starter for life. "Yeah, that reminds me of the time I got shot in the head..." 2 2

I guess they use 9mm these days. That being said... hope you feel better @BoliDan https://www.tactical-life.com/firearms/israeli-mossad-22-lrs/
Popular Post Chas.Alpha Posted March 2, 2023 Popular Post Posted March 2, 2023 Please follow the advice of our other members; get checked out when you feel better... Glad you're still with us! May the little punk with a .22 pistol spend the rest of his life living in a rent free room getting in touch with his "feminine side..." CAH 5 1
