MoeFOH Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 To ROTT or not to ROTT? That is the question! Review Weekend. Prize: Premium Sampler! Look, we get it, that gorgeous new box has just landed, you know damn well those babies need to nap for at least a little while... BUT... the temptation is sometimes too great!... no judgement here... ROTT on! This weekend's theme can be used to argue both sides of this particular coin. If you're going to get your ROTT on, give us a review and tell us how you fared. From "hey, these are actually smoking very nicely" to "oh Jesus, I really should have waited" OR if you've recently shown Herculean restraint and resisted the ROTT and perhaps you're now at the stage where you're ready to dip your beak, do it! And give us a review. Even better, if you did ROTT and are now checking in on that box's progress - give us a comparison! This theme will hopefully provide some interesting reviews but will also double as a little guide for sticks that are smoking well right now 🔥 or should be left to hibernate for a good wee while. Pick any cigar that fits the bill, Cuban or NC, and review it to go into the draw for a Premium Sampler! Drawn Wed 27th (Bris time) Follow these guidelines to submit your entry: 1. Start a new topic in the Waterhole 2. Title your review in this format (so we can track entries): Montecristo No.2 XYZ DEC 21 (ROTTRW)* 3. Write your review, include some photos, score it in your own way, ensuring you give us the theme detail required. 4. If you don't have a box code then just give us the year... or as much info as you can. Done!! Have fun with it, and have a great weekend, folks!! *ROTT Review Weekend *ROTT - Right Off The Truck 3
Popular Post Nevrknow Posted April 21, 2022 Popular Post Posted April 21, 2022 ROTT junkie. I have a ton of boxes with 24 cigars. 😁 7 6
Popular Post Zaxeiler Posted April 22, 2022 Popular Post Posted April 22, 2022 Some of my best flavor profiles come ROTT. Not saying cigars that smell like ammonia should be smoked - but one of my favorite Monte 4's came from FOH, was smoked the day it arrived, and had a ton of chocolate + citrus that still hasn't been matched since. Now, they're definitely changing and improving with age (I'm not making a case that aging doesn't matter), but sometimes there's flavors that seem to only show in that initial window. So I always do ROTT, even just to set the benchmark of mongrel. 5
avaldes Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 Agreed, some very special smells and tastes come from a new box that just arrived. 2

KnightsAnole Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 Not smoking one ROTT, is undue masochistic torture. It’s depriving yourself of a potentially great cigar moment. Sometimes you can feel the cigar is too moist, but even then, my curiosity often gets the better of me. I usually feel for the loosest cigar in the bunch and smoke that one first. Every now and then, I’ve been totally blown away by a cigar rott. 2
